MATHs

You will be part of a multidisciplinary creative team, driving innovation by design. MATHs is the sub studio of BAO and stands for Makers, Artists, Thinkers, Hackers. The team focuses on the design requirements of BAO, interiors, and spatial projects; as well as being part of a multidisciplinary team designing new perspectives on food and special projects.

The Role

You will be reporting into the Creative Director. Your conceptual thinking will be balanced with an innovative approach to delivering visually engaging design work.

Responsibilities

• Research, brainstorm and translate conceptual ideas into engaging, visually rich designs solutions

• Create, maintain and raise design standards, both aesthetically and consistently

• Continuously strive to create best-in-class visuals and to set BAO apart as more than just a F&B brand

• With the creative director, help create BAO brand guidelines

• Create visually striking and functional designs for our website and digital channels (email and social), from start to finish

• Manage external freelancers on larger projects

  • Print design for any collateral needed across the restaurants, delivery and eCommerce brands

• Packaging design and sourcing, book design

• Support creation of pitch decks for PR, brand partnerships and product campaigns

• Organising complex information in a way that is simple, user-friendly, logical and clear

• Collaborate with the team to ensure visual consistency across the project

About you

• Strong branding abilities – you are confident designing logos, idents and microsites

• Thorough understanding of designing for web & mobile (i.e. responsive and mobile-first design)

• Agile environment experience, working collaboratively within a team as well as being self-led

• Experience in user research, ability to analyse data and validate, before creating a solution

• A ‘here to help’ attitude, who absolutely, fundamentally believes that we’re better together, happy to share ideas, take constructive feedback, support with additional work when required

• Strong understanding of web usability and accessibility, digital trends and how websites and email newsletters are put together

• Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to clearly explain design concepts

• Excellent time management and self-organisation

• Excellent knowledge of Adobe creative suite: XD, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator

• Confident setting up artwork for print, understanding different print techniques and liaising with printers

• Abiity to work within time constraints and deadlines
