Mid Level Web Designer / Interface Designer at Aloof


– Leading in the website planning and design process
– Programming Aloof client websites
– Managing ongoing maintenance of retained client websites
– Designing, creating and managing email campaigns
– Ensuring Aloof are always up-to-date on current digital thinking and practices
– Communicating with clients and building relationships
– Ensuring we remain true to our company values at every stage of a project


– Translating/realising a brand into a digital experience
– Planning site/content architecture, storyboarding and wireframing
– Prototyping in Invision/UXPin, et al.
– Solid experience producing mobile responsive web interfaces
– Proficiency in best practices of usability/user experience
– Working collaboratively with in-house/external web developer
– Familiarity with e-commerce
– An understanding of Search Engine friendliness, SEO and best practice
– An ability to think logically and laterally through sometimes difficult problems
– Desire to learn, develop and discover new technologies and approaches
– Ability to confidently manage themselves and their self-development
– Exceptional written, verbal and visual communication skills
– A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
– The ability to be flexible and multi-task between projects

– Technical knowledge. Can build what you have designed
– An understanding of front-end technologies: HTML/CSS/JS
– Confidence in using common front-end tools: Jquery, Sass, Modernizr, et al
– A knowledge of code optimisation, UI/Animation/Server performance
– Knowledge of server/domain administration and Git source control
– E-marketing design background
– The skill to handwrite your own code

You’ll be led by our Digital Director and Creative Director. Day-to-day you’ll work closely with our Project Manager, Middleweight Designer and Junior Programmer.
