We are looking for an ambitious and experienced professional based in our London office to remotely recruit and manage a group of photographers in various cities and countries (hubs). As a self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit, you should have a desire to make a real impact on how millions of locals and visitors experience their cities. Your aim will be to help build up our resources of digital image assets for our Digital Asset Management (DAM) library.
You should be a confident and extremely diligent manager with the demonstrated ability to create and improve structures and processes. You must have a high degree of integrity and personal responsibility, and be an enthusiastic and collaborative team player. Recruit and manage a roster of freelance photographers across the world.
Work to find and build a community of amateur and professional photographers to contribute to our Digital Asset Management (DAM) library.
Identify content gaps and work strategically to fill them
You will work with content across the following genres: travel, food, fashion, art, design, film, literature, music, real estate & architecture, sports, tech & entrepreneurship, and health & wellness.
Oversee the output of the photographers you manage, paying careful attention to issues related to both quality and quantity of content.
Work closely with our social media community managers to source great assets from the thousands of contributors who interact with us on our social media channels (Instagram, in particular).
Work with the Visual Content team to ensure we maximise the use of quality imagery across the social and editorial teams
You will need to evaluate and revise systems under pressing deadlines
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
At least 2 years’ managerial experience in media and/or publishing as a Picture Researcher, or similar
Superb management, organizational and people skills are an absolute must.
Previous community and/or remote management experience is a strong asset.
Strong eye for compelling visuals and ideas for content across a selection of locations and interests.
Experience in the negotiating and securing of assets from multiple sources including photographers, videographers, agencies, and other sources such as Instagram and Flickr
Excellent knowledge of and experience working with visual formats
Strong understanding of copyright and content licensing laws and IP rights associated with digital assets
Outstanding knowledge of photo editing software such as Photoshop would be beneficial
Aptitude for web analytics is desirable, including experience with Google Analytics or other related software
Passion for culture, travel, food, art, lifestyle.
You need a self-starting attitude and to be confident interacting with writers, photographers and potential partners, both in person and over the phone or Skype.
You need to be an enthusiastic and dynamic yet collaborative team player with a high degree of integrity and personal responsibility.
You should be comfortable working within a global company and liaising across different time zones.
