The role:

- Working as part of a small in-house development team building out design work from a world-leading agency
- Discussing, prototyping and making key implementation decisions
- Working closely with external and internal UX/UI designers to finesse interaction design details, responsive layouts, and generally ensure designs are implemented as closely as possible
- Building a component library to showcase, iterate and test interface components
- Writing unit and end-to-end tests to ensure code reliability
- Liaising directly with digital product owners and business stakeholders to demo and sign-off areas of functionality

The candidate:

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and qualities:

- Several years experience building and shipping front-end applications
- Highly proficient in javascript (vanilla javascript, ideally with experience using ES6), HTML and CSS (including pre-processors), build and testing tools
- A proven track-record of delivering clean, performant, maintainable software on time
- A solid understanding of current front-end engineering best practices, and the ability to explain, adopt and adapt them
- Excellent communication skills, comfortable in explaining complex issues to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Follows Test-Driven Development principles, familiar with unit testing, build tools, CI and release pipelines
- Up to date with recent features and methods in and with JS, HTML, CSS, and associated frameworks, libraries and tooling
- An eye for detail in elegant, performant UI code to produce beautiful, friendly and fast interfaces
- Always ready to iterate on and prototype code in order to improve performance, robustness, and code clarity
