Production Design Intern at Rankin Photography Ltd

Rankin Photography and Hunger Publishing are looking for an intern to join the in-house production design team. The in-house set design team develops and creates sets for high profile clients in studio and on location. The internship would be great for a recent graduate but would also benefit anyone who wants to get a fantastic overview of production design across many mediums.

Successful applicants will have the opportunity to experience fashion editorials, music videos and commercials for both print and film. Working alongside the Production design team experience crosses: installing sets; props sourcing and set dressing; image and creative research; set breakdowns; tool shed maintenance.

The internship is designed specifically to support those who have a genuine and demonstrable passion for production design, but who have little professional experience or may not have had an opportunity to work professionally within these areas before.

The internship is for 6 months. They are paid at National Living Wage rate and are full-time (40 hours per week). As such you need to hold the right to work in the UK. We also require you to be flexible and available to work weekends when necessary. In some cases we can accommodate less than 6 months. However, we do not offer internships for less than 3 months.

Although no employment is guaranteed all interns who successfully complete their internship having proven they have the right aptitude will be kept in contact with regarding future opportunities. Typically talented interns are invited to join our Production team in trainee and junior roles or are offered freelance opportunities to assist.

Ultimately, as with any opportunity, the more you put into the role the more you will get back.

The ideal candidate will be a graduate of related degree who is hard working, a quick learner, conscientious and willing to get involved in a variety of tasks.

This is a varied and ‘hands on’ role, which requires an extremely organised, level-headed and positive person, comfortable in a busy and demanding studio environment.
