We’re looking for an enthusiastic Studio Manager to join us on a temporary basis, covering our current Studio Manager while she is on maternity leave.

The role

Your main responsibility will be for Map studio but working alongside the Universal Design Studio and AKQA management teams with whom we share our studio.

Map is an industrial design studio so you should have an interest in design and experience managing a creative studio. You will ensure the smooth running of the studio, streamlining the current processes and continuing to build our positive working environment. Keeping an eye on the supplies, so nothing vital ever runs out is key and ensuring we are compliant with Health & Safety guidelines for employees using the workshop.

You will often be the first point of contact for guests in the studio or on the phone, so you should take pride in the studio and be comfortable in a front of house position. You will also lead inductions for new starters and always be on hand to help with any issues raised by your colleagues.

We have clients all over the world so you will arrange travel and couriers, sometimes on a tight turnaround.

The majority of studio and project-related purchases will go through you, so you should be organised and have experience in credit card management, providing information monthly to the accounts department and adept at keeping to budgets. A strong understanding of how costs should be allocated to projects is also important for the role.

We are a social studio so you will help arrange monthly activities for the Map team and with Universal Design Studio and AKQA on larger biannual socials.
