About Unmind

Unmind is a workplace mental health platform. We empower organisations and employees to measurably improve their mental health. We do this by providing clinically-backed assessments, tools, training, and signposting that anyone within an organisation can use to proactively improve their mental wellbeing. Our digital platform is beautifully designed, non-stigmatising and globally scalable – helping to create healthier, happier, more human organisations around the world.

We believe that everyone has the right to a healthy mind – because we all have mental health, all of the time – and we’re striving to create a world where mental health is universally understood, nurtured, and celebrated.

The Role – Brand Designer

As a team of forty six, everyone does a bit of everything and we’re a super flat organisation. All opinions are valued regardless of role, tenure or, background, so every aspect of the business is up for debate. As a Brand designer at Unmind, you will be part of a design team that supports our Product, Marketing, Business Development, and Sales teams. You’ll work on exciting new projects from web design to print collateral, infographics, swag, illustrations, and animations.

  • Own ideation and execution of engagement campaigns, marketing design initiatives, and other client-facing collateral
  • Scope high-impact design initiatives and prioritise projects to ensure we're meeting business goals
  • Embody the role of a brand champion by continually evolving the Unmind brand and telling our brand story through every interaction point of the brand
  • Precisely articulate design rationale to members of the team when presenting work
  • Collaborate with peers on the design team as well as other teams to ensure designs are conceptually sound and fit into the bigger picture
  • Create a consistent illustration and animation language that speaks to the Unmind brand story
  • Give and receive design critique to help constantly refine our work
  • Champion for inclusivity and accessibility in everything we ship
  • Mentor new designers that join the design team

  • Give form to ideas by being the voice and owner of visual design decisions
  • Help make high-level strategic decisions in the evolution of the brand by telling compelling stories
  • Continually help push our team’s visual design and conceptualisation capabilities
  • Help the company meet business goals by understanding client/user needs and delivering on work that moves the needle
  • Advocate for effective best practices to improve multidisciplinary collaboration

Skills and Experience

We firmly believe that no-one is the finished article and that there should be learning in every role you do. So some of the role will be learning as you go, and we hope that’s exactly what you are looking for. However, some experience in the following is important for the role:

  • A stellar portfolio featuring your best work
  • 5-6 years of experience as a visual designer
  • Ability to work across different media — Print, Digital, Motion
  • A strong knowledge of designing for responsive web
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and the technologies that you’re designing for
  • A keen eye for visual UI details
  • Advanced Adobe Suite (Illustrator, Indesign, Photoshop) and Figma skills
  • Passionate about creating products that resonate emotionally with our users
  • Comfortable working in fast-moving, agile development environments
  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage ambiguity and work autonomously

The Opportunity

You will be joining an exceptionally talented core team who – in the last three years – have secured incredible investors, partners, clients and advocates. Our future success(es) will rely on the continuation of that momentum – of which our ability to enhance (and leverage) Unmind’s market presence will be paramount. If done right, then the opportunity for this individual (and Unmind generally) is vast, compounded and – perhaps most importantly – will genuinely improve people’s lives.

You will receive a competitive salary, bi-annual reviews with a focus on future development, personal development and wellness budgets, access to the Unmind platform, working from home days and lots of other office and social perks to make working with Unmind fun and fulfilling.

  • Pick your own tech
  • Regular social company gatherings
  • Optional team walks, runs, yoga and mindfulness sessions
  • Wellbeing and training budgets to use at your discretion
  • Office perks (free on-site gym, rooftop bar, wellbeing events)
  • Pension and generous holiday policy
  • Dog-friendly workplace
