Zendesk is hiring a Senior Artworker to join our in-house Creative team in London.

You: Cool, so what does that entail?

As a member of the Brand Experience team, you will take on a key role in shaping the way we improve and scale our design output.

This newly created role will see you in charge of streamlining how we produce and issue artwork across a wide range of assignments and for a global network of internal teams and external agencies

You will be part of our agile London design team, working in close collaboration with colleagues in San Francisco and partners from around the world.

And what do you expect from me?

You are a seasoned artworker with a keen eye for what makes good graphic design. You both love to think in scale and systems, and also drill deep into grids and typographical detail.

You come with an impressive combo of the right tools, skills and experience across different media, both print and digital.

You’re a self-directed thinker who can own projects from set-up all the way to sending artworked materials off to production. You push for quality while being pragmatic with timelines and budgets. You’re always looking for ways to improve what we do and how we do it. And you’re well versed diplomat, expertly steering a project and our team to achieve the best result possible.

Ok. Could you be a bit more specific?

  • Build out and maintain our design templates and ensure that all artwork is delivered according to the guidelines
  • Manage and develop our network of suppliers, such as printers and event production companies
  • Lead and inspire Zendesk teams and our external suppliers to think in design systems, making our design process better and faster at the same time
  • Enable the growth of the Zendesk brand as we make our designs more scalable across different teams and markets

  • A wizard of design tools, particularly Adobe CS, Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop
  • At least five years experience in a similar role, ideally in a related industry
  • An outstanding sensibility for systems, grids and typography
  • A deep understanding of physical production techniques
  • Able to work on a number of projects at any time, sometimes with short deadlines
  • Up-to-date with current design and technology trends
  • Experience with language versioning and multi-language artworks
  • Knowledge of HTML/CSS/Javascript a plus but not required
  • Experience running own design projects on the side is appreciated and respected

  • A pragmatic perfectionist with an undeterred eye for quality
  • A sense for simple and refined design
  • A highly organised and detail-oriented self starter
  • A fast thinker and hands-on problem solver
  • Comfortable working in a collaborative and informal environment
  • Comfortable working across divisions and with diverse teams
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated with a glass half-full attitude and high EQ
  • A coach and a mentor for other team members

You: Quite demanding, aren’t you? Why should I care?
