We are looking for a Community Manager who will bring their creative and friendly character to our independent, London Bridge-based co-working space: Hex Space.

This role will be part-time - 20 hours a week spread across 4-5 days but flexible.

The main aim of this job is to further develop our relationship with our residents and our network to share knowledge, gain experience, and build a space where people look forward to going to work.

HexSpace was created by HexStudio, a small and independent creative studio. We set up HexSpace as we believe life is better when we collaborate and create together. Our aim was to develop a characterful and flexible co-working environment that connects you with other inspiring, energetic and driven people.

We truly believe that people make a place. We want to provide more than just a desk, so we are on a mission to cultivate an empowering and vibrant community that supports small and independent businesses, just like us.

You will be sat with the HexStudio team (including our resident dog, Alma), working with them to create marketing materials, set programming and roll-out our business development materials for HexSpace by:

  • Being our ‘front of house’ - meeting and greeting members, guests and potential residents with an attentive and approachable attitude

  • Helping us develop, create, manage, and execute events to engage with the local community and partners, as well as our residents
  • Maintaining the highest level of occupancy and residents satisfaction at all times by ensuring member needs are attended to in a timely manner
  • Working with our Client Services Director and creative team to gain further exposure for HexSpace and grow our online presence
  • Overseeing the daily operations of the co-working space and the maintenance of a quality working environment including:
  • the ordering of supplies and input of receipt from vendors
  • managing contractors - cleaners, tradesman and utility providers
  • general day-to-day maintenance of the office

The ideal candidate should have:

  • At least one year of prior experience in a customer-facing role - this job will require diplomacy in order to mitigate differences of opinion, deal with tricky customers and to find and negotiate the best solutions for our co-working community

  • Proficiency in spoken and written English is essential, alongside a friendly and approachable personality

  • A good grasp of social media and marketing

  • An understanding of the start-up scene and general interest in the business sector would be highly beneficial

Some personal skills we value:

  • Having a proactive attitude and able to give and take feedback

  • Be able to have authority (to keep our community in ship shape!) but in an approachable and friendly way

  • Having enthusiasm and a drive to create fantastic designs

  • Taking a ‘hands-on’ approach to the work

  • A great sense of humour

  • Likes dogs
