Role: Senior Social & Community Editor

Reporting to: Digital Director

The Senior Social & Community Editor acts as the overall responsibility for the social output and working with talent across the social formats. He/ she mentors and guides the Social & Community Assistant, ensuring The Face’s priority social platform(s) are innovating and engaging. Alongside the digital community formats, the Social & Community Editor develops a programme of events and activations with The Face’s extended community.


Duties, responsibilities & deliverables

Social Media & Digital

Identify and approach talent to collaborate on all talent-led Instagram formats

Ensure all talent-led formats are booked into social calendar and published to deadline via Social & Community Assistant

Develop strategic partnerships with accounts to create cut-through editorial moments or campaigns

Drive ideas around social campaigns to engage audience

Build relationships with PRs to keep informed of big moments with talent, and assign Face Instagram formats accordingly

Work with the Social & Community Assistant to find daily reactive Instagram posts, and act as the final sign off

Lead on social posting from The Face site, advising Social & Community Assistant on daily distribution relevant for the different channels, balancing traffic driving and engagement generating posts

Oversee posting for commercial events and projects

Support the commercial team with ideation, proposals and activation

Responsible for hitting weekly and monthly growth and engagement targets

Report on performance in assistance to the Head of Audience Development and Data

Build a loyal audience using available data, tools and reports to feed into the evolving social strategy, keeping audience engagement and growth as the main KPIs

Lead continuous innovation on Instagram to ensure the Face has an industry leading account with a highly engaged audience

Keep informed of developments and new functionality across the priority platforms, and continually suggest creative ways to test out new features

Select and arrange a weekly curator for The Face newsletter


Social Video

Work with Head of Video to ensure all relevant talent is assigned to weekly social video formats

Have an editorial point of view on The Face’s social video output, bringing new video format ideas and leading the decision making around platform placement

Assist video team on video dimensions and specs for each platform


Community and Events

Create and manage a programme of tangible expressions of The Face community through events, covering the variety of interests The Face represents

For all Face events, suggest guestlist invites from the extended community

Liaise with production teams to manage guest lists and audience activation for commercial projects

Facilitate and maintain engagement with, and between The Face community members


Skills, experience & personal attributes

- Editorial and copywriting skills a must

- A strong visual eye and awareness of The Face aesthetic

- Understanding of strategic social publishing, digital storytelling, social distribution and analytics

- Experience in communicating with PRs, management and talent

- Awareness of The Face’s community network and talent

- Confident working independently and productively as a member of a collaborative team

- Open to sharing ideas, accepting constructive feedback to benefit you, your projects and your team

- Full of passion, energy and enthusiasm and eager to work in a fast-paced environment

- Proven interest in music, fashion, and culture

- Passionate about digital and social media publishing

- Great time management, attention to detail, and multitasking skills

- Willingness to work weekends during peak times

- Experience in video editing tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro desirable
