Askonas Holt seeks a part-time Designer & Web Developer to collaborate with our Marketing & Creative Services team. The Designer & Developer will work with our managers on a variety of projects, delivering design materials and websites to artists receiving our Creative Services offer and providing support on Askonas Holt’s website and marketing strategy.


Key responsibilities

Design

  • Translating artist and manager feedback into compelling and unique visual brands
  • Understanding client and company needs and meeting design briefs with creative direction
  • Creating design materials on a project-by-project basis, including but not limited to album covers, branded social media content, pitch decks, and proposals


Development

  • Designing website layouts based on briefs from managers, in some cases delivering various directions and edit rounds
  • Building websites to specification using Wordpress CMS. The Designer & Developer will write code; incorporate widgets, plug-ins, and applications as needed; test websites across browsers and build them for responsiveness across devices; debug and troubleshoot; ensure that websites and domains are properly hosted by third party providers; and repair or update websites as needed
  • Weighing in on website search engine optimization and making recommendations to our team based on technical knowledge
  • Overseeing website security and GDPR compliance, providing development expertise. The Designer & Developer will assess site security, combat hacking attempts, and ensure that Askonas Holt and artist data remains secure


The successful candidate will have

  • Solid experience in design and full stack development on WordPress, with a track record of successful projects and a strong portfolio
  • Experience with web applications and programming languages such as HTML, CSS, SQL, JavaScript, and JQuery Expertise working in the Adobe creative suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
  • An understanding of UX, and the ability to design for multiple audiences Expertise in server and domain management
  • A creative eye for branding and design, with an understanding of how to meet the needs of clients and translate their identity into visual brands
  • Excellent project management skills and the ability to meet deadlines and deliver on projects in a timely manner
  • The ability to adapt and problem solve, plus understand and act on feedback quickly and effectively
  • Natural communication skills


This is a part-time position, with flexible location.
