We’re working with an exciting young tech company soon to be a global brand, to help them find a best in class Design Lead or Head of Product as they grow their London team. Crucially the ideal candidate must be a ‘hands-on’ designer and happy to roll their sleeves up and do the work, while senior enough to be able to ensure they can hire in the right team to support. This person will be a highly experienced and enthusiastic UI/UX Designer who is ready to get stuck in and help this brand improve experience wise, and visually as they scale.

You will be highly collaborative, naturally proactive and able to lead on projects. You must have the voice, personality and gravitas to sell in your ideas to senior stakeholders within the business, taking them on the journey with you. It goes without saying that you will have a portfolio of high-quality, pixel-perfect design work and will be a naturally artistic and creative thinker. Experience working at a startup that is beginning to scale and early stages of assimilating a Product Design team. This role will be fast paced and you will need ability to work well under pressure and adapt to a quickly changing workplace. You will thrive in an environment where you can put your stamp on the business from a design point of view but also in terms of processes and design systems. An entrepreneurial thinker who understands their design decisions will impact the success of the business.

Essential Requirements and Responsibilities:

  • 8+ years of Product Design experience
  • 4+ years working with mobile app design
  • A portfolio full of innovative and visually impressive UI/UX work
  • Experience leading and mentoring a team junior, mid and senior level designers
  • Bags of enthusiasm and willingness to go the extra mile to get the job done right
  • Exceptional attention to detail, particularly typography
  • Collaborative attitude and ability to work with developers and marketers alike
  • In-depth knowledge of the iOS Human Interface Guidelines and Google’s Material Design
  • Hunger and drive to help a rapidly evolving company reach their potential, and for you to grow with it
  • Able to understand complex app design UX
  • A strong focus on designing with the end customer in mind
