We have a brief working in-house for a famous children's story brand.

Their current CD is going on maternity leave in February and they are looking for an experienced senior creative/manager to be able to cover for this maternity leave. Ideally they would like to find someone to start working around November so there is a bit of a crossover and for this new designer to get bedded in to the company before she goes on maternity leave.

They would like someone for 14 months to cover the maternity leave but this could also potentially go into a full time role afterwards if there is work at the end of this period. This is a hands-on job so will be designing most of the time with some soft management time too - approx 30% management (overseeing the other senior designer and midweight designer and any freelancers), 70% design time. The management part of this role would be for 14 months until February 2022 while the CD is away.

The candidate should be multi disciplinary and have the following skills:

  • Inspire and execute strong creative ideas - either self initiated or from a brief
  • Lead production of imaginative and innovative print and digital assets for a variety of the company's departments, including (but not limited to) licensed merchandise, marketing, brand partnerships, publishing, social media and more, using a number of stylistic approaches
  • Developing branded design concepts, graphics and assets
  • Creating high-quality graphic design and layout work across multiple disciplines, managing projects from conception to delivery
  • Brand guideline creation and maintenance
  • Style guide creation and development
  • Gif and digital specific asset creation
  • Asset management
  • Create highly innovative product concepts and mockups
  • Packaging and POS creation
  • Create high-spec Keynote/ InDesign presentations
  • Reference research
  • The creation of a variety of brand assets including:
    social assets
    brand partnership assets
    character illustration artwork support
    character environment support
    marketing calendars
    colour palettes
    book covers
    typography and logo work
    brand presentations
  • Support of all character illustration artwork facets including 2D and 3D
  • Ensuring high quality design standards are met within the Design team and supporting skill development
  • Keeping up to date with design industry developments and tools to help inform your work
