Job Description

Job Overview

SOON_ is looking for a Junior Project Manager to join our Production team, to help us build great digital products and services.

What you will be doing

  • Project planning, scheduling and resourcing
  • Co-ordinating and running regular agile activities and rituals (sprint planning, sprint reviews and daily standups)
  • Liaising with the design and technical teams on a regular basis to ensure the projects are on-track
  • Work to maximise and continually improve team and work-flow efficiency (projects don't always go to plan, there's a job to do to continually improve the ways we work together)
  • Reporting on project progress to senior stakeholders
  • Identifying risks and risk mitigation
  • Initially, we expect you'll be learning a lot. We have very clear processes in place and plenty of opportunities to learn new things, so let's start there.
  • You'll be working together with our design and technical teams to produce outstanding digital work - namely web applications, native apps, digital services and installations.
  • This role has the potential to be client-facing, so you’ll get plenty of opportunities to liaise with the client and other key stakeholders throughout the course of the project.

About you

  • You work proactively and enjoy solving problems in challenging situations.
  • You focus on and understand the needs of our clients and strive to deliver prompt, effective and personalised service. You can manage feedback and know how to set expectations with your team.
  • You enjoy working collaboratively with others and your communication skills are your greatest asset. You listen closely and communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
  • You take a reflective approach, looking for opportunities to improve and learn from experience

What skills we’re looking for

  • Experience keeping projects focused and on track, and adapting when things don’t go to plan.
  • Knowledge and experience using Google Docs, Excel and Word are a must.
  • Knowledge of at least one project management tool such as Jira, Trello or Asana.
  • Familiarity with agile practices and ways of managing cross-functional teams

It would be big plus if you have:

  • Experience of Jira, Harvest or TeamGantt (as this is our day-to-day toolkit)
  • Traffic or resource planning experience
  • Creative or digital agency experience
  • Experience with Quality Assurance and Testing
  • Scrum, Agile or or any other Project Management certification

What you’ll get out of it

You will be working directly with everyone in the team, so this is an amazing chance to work with and learn from the best. We’re a small company and a tight team - we work collaboratively, we share load, we have deep specialist experience but often blend roles.

We pay fair London wages, encourage decent amounts of holiday and support remote and flexible working. To make sure our staff are as safe as possible during the pandemic, we are all working from home, with mature systems and processes in place that make this as easy as possible. In 2021 we’ll be making fresh decisions about how and where we work. It will be flexible, you’ll be allowed to work from home if you like it and there will be alternatives if you don’t.

The mindset we’re looking for

  • Love what you do; we really care about our clients and the work.
  • Love to learn; learning new things is what motivates all of us and is why we love the Web.
  • Be proactive; you get out what you put in.
  • Show talent; make us feel like we’ll never be that good.
  • Attention to detail; We worry, fret and polish till it’s right.
