Job Description

Studio La Plage is a multidisciplinary creative agency in London, partnering with the world’s best-known brands. We’re a friendly, forward-thinking studio: we work flexibly, collaboratively, and we genuinely value work-life balance as much as we, and our clients, value incredible work.

Right now, we’re on the hunt for extraordinary new talent to work with us remotely on some fantastic ongoing briefs, with an immediate starting date.

The position is on a Freelance basis and we are requiring support in a number of international regions.

Worldly wordsmiths, step forward. We’d like to hear from Midweight & Senior Copywriters or Journalists with technical and emerging tech / IT experience who are flawlessly fluent in English, but native speakers and writers in any of the following countries:

  • Germany
  • France
  • Italy
  • Spain
  • Dutch
  • Flemish-Dutch
  • Finnish
  • Sweden
  • Norway
  • Portugal (European and Latin American),
  • Korea
  • Indonesia
  • Thailand
  • French Canada
  • Danish

As a Copywriter helping us in localised copy and content writing you’ll be part of our new, remote hub, primarily working with one of the world’s largest technology brands (B2B). You will be responsible for creating everything and anything that – unsurprisingly – requires words.

You will be expected to build close working relationships with your internal team and clients alike. You’ll be confident in quickly understanding and actioning client briefs. You will also be comfortable talking strategy, advising clients on the best way forward, demonstrating innovative thinking and creative ideas.

Rock solid candidates will have:

  • 3-5 years’ experience as a Copywriter with established agency and/or brands (if freelance)
  • Extensive B2B experience, with a strong focus on technology clients
  • Pitch-perfect, native localisation if dealing with English master documents (where the need is required)
  • Mastered the knack of distilling multiple complex technology details into concise, effective messaging
  • Perfected the art of resolving extensive and often highly-detailed feedback from multiple client stakeholders and questioning the rationale where needed
  • A strategic mindset with the ability to understand a client’s business and marketing objectives and be able to translate these into meaningful, consumer-facing copy
  • A solid knowledge of different creative disciplines and industry best practice
  • The ability to gauge and sustain tone of voice, making sure it’s maintained throughout the brand’s deliveries
  • Experience crafting adaptable copy for a wide range of channels from long to short form and vice versa
  • Strong organisational skills, staying on top of a busy schedule and juggling multiple briefs at once
  • A positive attitude, and willingness to learn and adapt as a key member of a fast-growing business
  • Strong people person skills, with the ability to build and nurture incredible relationships
  • A superb eye for detail with the ability to be able to proof under pressure and often at speed, your own and sometimes others, writing that’s been flowed into highly technical documents

Rock star candidates might also have:

  • A previous life in journalism, where complex subjects were distilled for a wider audience
  • Extensive experience copywriting for a public sector audience in your native country
  • A broad understanding of technology-related current affairs unique to the public sector in your native country

Benefits:

  • Competitive market rate
  • Flexible hours and term
  • In-house wellness and social programme

We are happy to hear from candidates who may want to split their time between this role and other existing work but you must be able to give an overview of your availability a week in advance and be flexible when needed.

Please send your CV and a covering letter ASAP (including ‘Midweight Copywriter’ in the subject line), telling us why you’d be perfect for Studio La Plage. Email: marcus@la-plage.london
