This is a unique and energetic creative/tech production and innovation environment at a major label, housed directly in Warner Music Group's UK Headquarters. The dept supports all of WMG globally – and, as well as this, our UK label commissioners include:


Key Responsibilities:

Work with the Head of Tech, the UX & Design Director, and the Digital/Social commissioners in the labels, to develop new and innovative fan engagement tools and assets. These outputs can include, but are not limited to: SmartSpeaker applications such as Alexa Skills, websites, landing pages, microsites with social media API / music API integration, digital ad units (eg, Spotify HPTOs), Facebook Messenger Bots, and HTML5 games.
To keep aware and hungry for knowledge and R&D with regard to new development frameworks, and platforms. Awareness of innovative and successful campaign tools/sites/apps and digital marketing activations in the music industry, and wider marketplace

General Requirements:

  • Time management: experience of high pressure and high traffic production environments
  • Basic workflow awareness with regard to developing from Sketch deliverables 
  • A “more that just a developer” approach: a passion and interest in creating delightful and engaging end-experiences for our artist audiences. 
  • As well as an early adopter of new frameworks, where appropriate (especially with regard to Javascript), the candidate should have good knowledge and self-motivated interest in the technical execution of standout digital marketing campaigns across the industry
  • Ability to evaluate and dissect technical detail of these campaigns.

Essential Skillset:

  • Strong Javascript 
  • React / Docker 
  • Intermediate WordPress and Intermediate PHP
  • HTML5/CSS3 competency, Photoshop basic competency
  • Intermediate LAMP config and CLi
  • Familiarity with Partner Platform APIs (eg, Spotify, YouTube, Twitter, etc)

Desirable Skillset:

  • Working with Sketch deliverables
  • AWS (eg, Elastic Beanstalk, Lambda)
  • Twilio
  • Custom Canvas development
  • Sails.js
  • Python
  • Drupal 8 / ‘Headless’ Drupal
