A high-end digital agency who is looking for a principal designer to join their creative studio. Within this role you will be delivering world class digital solutions to globally recognised clients and brands.
You must have a minimum of 6 years’ commercial experience and have proven track record for delivering design solutions for high profile digital products or services.

THE ROLE

• Working within this position you will be delivering design concepts and solutions, with varying degrees of fidelity and detail, to fulfil the needs of different brands and their target audience.
• You will be expected to present design and creative thinking to clients, guiding them through the design process.
• Looking to achieve a win/win outcome for the clients and their customers you will be identifying and communicating objectives for each project.
• You will liaise with the Creative Director, proactively sharing progress on projects for review.
• You ill support the companies design philosophy and practise both internally and externally.
• Liaising with the programme management team you will report on the status of design deliverables, support on the costing and planning of activity, highlighting any risks.
• Identifying business opportunities, leading pitches and generating ideas, you will support the wider sales team.
Manager/Mentor
• You will line manage various team members, setting and measuring their performance during appraisals as well as throughout the year.
• You will organise regular meetings with your direct reports, discussing and assessing their work.
• When necessary you will make recommendations for promotion, salary reviews and bonuses, within your team, to your line manager.
• You will contribute to company blog posts, social media, white papers and attend/speak at industry conferences.


SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES
The perfect candidate for this role will be creative, have excellent diplomacy and communication skills and have a fastidious attention to detail. You will look to get the best out of yourself, your team, and the teams you work amongst. You will lead by example, always upholding the companies leadership values.

• Minimum of 6 years in a similar position, delivering design solutions for high profile digital products or services.
• Expert in industry standard design visualisation and prototyping software (for example Sketch, InVision)
• Tasking primary and secondary research, as a core part of your design process: particularly RITE
• A solid grounding in graphic and service design
• Understanding of front end development principles and execution
• Pitching and winning new business accounts
• Experience mentoring and line-managing senior level (and below) designers for at least two years
• Leading cross-disciplinary design and front-end development teams, preferably at a programmatic level
• Recognised degree-level qualifications in graphic, experience or digital design, and HCI
