Working in vibrant Soho in the heart of London, Crown’s design team work to bring communication alive across live events, print, digital and presentation platforms. We produce designs that get clients' messages across with an appropriate and strong visual impact. Ours is a fast paced industry, often with very short lead times and the need for quick and efficient turn-around that doesn’t compromise on quality.

The role of Junior Designer and Artworker is an opportunity for a junior designer to work on a variety of projects, with support, guidance and mentoring from experienced members of the team.

Design input is required for a huge variety of products and activities, including:
1. Event artwork, large format, banners, signage, print collateral, exhibitions and displays
2. Artworking of documents – internal and client project focused, incorporating marketing and presentation materials for pitches
3. Websites & digital solutions
4. Research and concept development for Always Curious projects

Day to day tasks will include, but are not exhaustive to:
1. Interpreting client briefs as directed by the Creative Director / Account Director / Head of Studio
2. Developing creative concepts and visually communicating these to all levels of staff
3. Presenting options for design treatments, encouraging open discussion for further development
4. Working collaboratively with all colleagues, from creative directors and copywriters, through to producers, project coordinators and the marketing team
5. Artworking layouts for print, digital, presentation and 3D visualization purposes
6. Amending designs according to client and internal project owners requirements as necessary
7. Creating final designs, working to a deadline and budget
8. Using illustrative skills for early stage concept development
9. Producing collateral under instruction from the Account Directors or Project Managers and collating materials for final output
10. Contributing to wider brainstorming sessions to discuss creative projects as a whole – not exclusively graphics based
11. Attending seminars, workshops and exhibitions with relevant content to explore and report back on
12. Writing copy to support your visual communication. Development in this is one key area that will help move you from junior to middle weight designer
13. Going on-site to oversee the installation of Studio output or to support team

• Confidence to present and explain ideas to colleagues

• Excellent attention to detail
• The ability to balance work on several projects at a time, often under stressful circumstances
• An ability to work both independently with your own initiative and within a team environment
• Good team-working skills with the ability to work and communicate with all levels of staff and clients
• Flexibility and openness to feedback

• 3d Visualisation
• Photography
• Copywriting - we'd love to have someone on board to look after our blog!

It is important to have an interest in:
• Graphics and typography
• New developments in design software
• Multimedia, including social networking
• The creative industries in general

You should have a keen interest in the world around you, in particular culture, the arts and technology.
