WHO WE ARE

Hue & Cry is a young, dynamic creative communications agency working across a wide variety of projects for prestige
brands in the luxury, drinks and hospitality sectors. We blend brand and PR disciplines to make holistic creative solutions across a wide range of touchpoints.

Based in Bloomsbury, central London, with other creative neighbours, we pride ourselves in producing inspiring, beautiful, and effective creative solutions.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR IN A MIDDLEWEIGHT DESIGNER?

We are looking for someone who can develop and evolve ideas and concepts to deliver excellently crafted creative solutions and communications. They should have a positive outlook and outgoing personality, be a team player and relish the opportunity to work with a small team of designers. The design team is growing and there is scope for the right candidate to grow into a Senior Designer role.

As we work across a range of brand disciplines from experiential, print, identity, digital, moving image, inductions and packaging we are looking for an all rounder who embraces a multi-disciplinary challenge.

They should be confident enough to own and lead projects, and to present and liaise with clients and suppliers. Organisational skills, from time keeping, planning, and delegation where necessary are also key skills required.

They should be inquisitive, self-motivated to keep up-to-date with innovative design disciplines and new technical skills to grow their expertise, and to generate new and unique ideas.

CREATIVE SKILLS

• To proactively explore new concepts and ideas with confidence and encourage juniors and interns to experiment, while providing constructive feedback to them.
• To seek increased influence and responsibility for projects.
• To be vocal and active in brainstorms, and stimulate with new concepts and ideas.

CRAFT SKILLS

• To challenge themselves to achieve the highest quality of craftsmanship.
• To set, accept and tackle demanding objectives with enthusiasm and invest a lot of time and energy in work, showing drive, determination and commitment to creative excellence.
• To demonstrate craftsmanship by caring about every detail that matters to give it purpose, and possess the skills to do so at a high level.

WORKING WITH OTHERS

• In a joint effort with consultants and account managers and other designers, to take the brief, interpret it and bring it alive.
• To keep abreast of emerging technologies on all platforms and help to raise awareness of digital developments throughout the business.

CONFIDENCE

• To establish strong working relationships and relate well to people at all levels (colleagues, clients, suppliers).
• To explain concepts and express opinions clearly, and to work systematically and consistently.
• To be able to plan and prioritise their work, deliver it on time and act on own initiative while feeding back regularly to the Creative Director and seeking their contributions.
