ABOUT THE ROLE
An Account Director ensures the seamless production of campaigns – from briefing designers, and creatives, to managing budgets and their team.


However, an Account Director is primarily responsible for the management of relationships with clients. As the senior point of contact for an agency’s clients, the Account Director also coordinates the resources needed to service projects, builds strategic operational plans and balances the expectations of clients with the execution of creative work.


You will be expected to plan campaigns, and successfully develop business accounts creatively and financially, while playing a positive role in your agency’s new business programme.


All this, whilst providing an impeccable service to the clients day-to-day. Building team spirit and morale is vital to your role, your focus is to lead by example and develop methods to strategically handle relationships with peers, clients and prospects. You are actively encouraged to attend and speak at industry events.


OVERALL PURPOSE
– Taking a lead in clients’ marketing and advertising strategies
– Leading a team to provide the utmost level of client service
– Liaising with clients at a senior level on a day-to-day basis
– Promoting the expansion of business with existing clients
– Working with other senior managers to generate new accounts
– Completing projects to a specific schedule and within an agreed budget
– Using your skills to push clients, and the agency, creatively and strategically


Specific responsibilities
Building and maintaining excellent client relationships
Attending and leading client meetings
Strategic campaign management through the campaign lifecycle
Gather business requirements and understand the difference between these and possible solutions
Briefing, managing and developing a dedicated team
Analysis of all work ongoing, shaping your strategy recommendations going forward
Monitoring and evaluating all work - both campaign and ongoing:
Reporting - internal - daily tracking and monthly target documents
Reporting - clients - weekly, monthly and yearly reports
Trend-spotting through your analytical work
Seeking opportunities and generating ideas for clients and advising them accordingly
Commercial development of existing client business
Attending and speaking at industry events
Leading the agency internally in strategic best practice
Agency client news promotion:
Regular site/social content
Award recommendations and entries
Press angle recommendations
Trend and analysis reports


Essential skills and aptitudes
Excellent understanding of the social development process, across both strategy and creative
Sector knowledge and understanding of best practice
A keen attention to detail and budgetary restraints
Ability to communicate knowledgeably about social and digital strategies
Full awareness of creative processes and techniques – including digital platforms
An acute eye for detail
Analytical experience - demonstrated through communications with the team and clients
A team player with the ability to work under own initiative
Able to work quickly, accurately and under pressure
Flexible, adaptable and diplomatic
Excellent at communicating with team, clients and prospects
Leadership and management experience is a bonus
The ability to plan and strategise at a senior level
Significant experience in professional-client relationship management
A background in advertising, design or marketing
Professional attitude to work at all times
