Bibliotheque, an award winning design consultancy based in Clerkenwell is looking for an enthusiastic Studio / Project Manager to join our team. We work across many areas of design, from branding to packaging, spatial to digital and retail to publishing. This experience has enabled us to provide fully integrated solutions across numerous business sectors.

The Role:
Although a management role, we see this position as integral to the creative process. A specific Graphic Design background is not essential but the ideal candidate should feel at ease in a creative environment, and have a keen interest in the design industry and the broader cultural landscape around us. The skills of the candidate in managing a creative environment, underpins all the work in the studio, and helps crystallise many briefs, client relationships and ensures the smooth running of all projects.

Reporting directly to the 3 Founding Partners, the candidate will have an integral role and be keen to implement processes and workflows to improve the day to day running of the studio. The personality you bring to the table is just as essential as your skill set, with the ideal candidate being opinionated, tactful and diplomatic with the ability to manage both the clients and the teams needs.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
– Managing multiple projects with clients ranging from world known brands to exciting new start-ups.
– Receive, research and help to interrogate incoming briefs, approaching each one with flexibility and a can do attitude.
– Briefing the design team on project deliverables and managing output.
– Creating and updating contacts reports, ensuring key decisions and project information are recorded and communicated both internally and externally.
– Anticipating and managing changes to scope throughout the project, whilst also identifying opportunities for extra services.
– Creating and maintaining long-standing client relationships by managing stakeholders expectations and delivering excellent results.
– Facilitating new business enquiries and assisting with creative pitches.
– Assisting the Partners with proposal writing, project scoping and timelines.
– Timesheet management and reporting to ensure projects are run on time and on budget.
– Studio management including upkeep and purchases.
– Studio administration and accounting, including client billing and following up on payment schedules.
– Maintaining office IT systems by providing basic troubleshooting, and liaising with third party IT companies on larger issues.
– Managing studio culture and arranging social events.
– General HR duties and assistance with recruitment and onboarding.

Key skills:
– Experience of managing client relationships, comfortable interacting with a broad range of clients and suppliers.
– Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
– A meticulous planner with excellent organisational skills, and an eye for detail and ability to prioritise.
– Self motivated multi-tasker with a natural flare for problem solving.
– Ability to negotiate.
– Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel, ability to review and improve current processes.
– Basic to moderate understanding of In-Design.
– Experience with Xero a bonus but not essential.
– Some understanding of research techniques.
– Passion / interest for design, naturally curious for the industry and an understanding of the design process.
– A super friendly and sociable personality is key!
