SENIOR DESIGN MANAGER
We are looking for a passionate, capable and curious Senior Design Manager who will bring years of experience, flair and creativity to the party as we continue to produce the high standard of work that Hex is known for.

Full-Time - London

Hex Studio’s mission is to create brand experiences that people love to interact with, regardless of the medium. We’re well underway with this mission, but we need you to help take things up a notch. Whilst working on amazing creative solutions, you’ll also work on optimising design output and mentoring our junior designer.

We are a young branding agency, made up of talented people working in design, business development, and marketing. Because we're a small team, you’ll have lots of responsibility but also the freedom to make your own decisions and set your own directives.

Our output of work covers a broad spectrum of services from Brand Development & Ideation to Content & Social, as well as Digital & Online to Print & Editorial. We work with entrepreneurs, as well as, established brands so you’d be dealing with a range of different levels of experience, which can be challenging but rewarding.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
As a Senior Design Manager at Hex Studio, your role will be to lead a project from initial consultation through to final execution. You’d be meeting clients and partners to discuss and identify their problems. You’d be pushing our design creativity – with brilliant ideas, fantastic design and craft skills, and smart strategic thinking. You’d be presenting work to clients and ensuring they understand why it’s right for them. Also, you’ll need to work collaboratively with your colleagues and keep them motivated through the agony and ecstasy of creating extraordinary work.

This is the pivotal design role, working side by side with our Founder and Creative Director, Ellie Mann. This is a management role that will require you to be able to handle the pressure of decision making and client requests. Please don’t apply if you’re not up to the challenge.

OUR CLIENTS
Over the last three years, we've built up quite a friendly club of companies that worked with Hex Studio, among others:
Bic, Jet 2, The Body Shop, Wilmott Dixon, Habito and Tide.

THIS IS WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Curiosity is king. We want you to be independent and decisive, a problem seeker and a problem solver. An all-rounder with a small ego who values free time outside work just as much as work itself.

OTHER PERKS
We also have our own Co-working Space next to London Bridge Station, which is pretty sweet! We are lucky enough to be surrounded by some impressive people that make up our community - we also have a nap pod, chillout rooms and three dogs.

Some personal skills we value:
- Have a proactive attitude and be able to give and take feedback.
- Have enthusiasm and a drive to create fantastic designs.
- Have an interest in what’s going on in the world of tech and design.
- You have an eye for detail and are happy mentoring other designers in the team.
- Be approachable and friendly and take a ‘hands-on’ approach to the work.

As for design skills:
- Have at least 6+ years experience as a designer within an agency environment
- Have excellent communication + leadership skills in internal + client presentations
- Team builder + mentor
- Comfortable collaborating with developers + creative technologists
- Have a working understanding of relevant programming languages used in interactive design (HTML5, CSS, Javascript)
- Hands-on designer with knowledge of pertinent design software (Adobe CS, Sketch, etc.)
- Great sense of humour
