The HudsonBec Group is looking for it’s dedicated finance role to ensure the accuracy of our reporting, budgeting and forecasting and take finance workload off our current Managing Director.


This is an exciting opportunity to report into the Managing Director, and lead the financial aspects of the group. The role will manage external accounting support the business has had in since inception. The HudsonBec Group is currently 3 businesses, with 30 employees across all 3.


Key Skills and Qualifications:


  • Xero proficiency is critical
  • Experience as a management accountant/assistant accountant
  • Can work well unaided, with good initiative
  • Experience in managing finances in a group structure
  • Experience in SME accounting
  • Very organised
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Good Analysis, and ability to reach conclusions from numerical data
  • Proficient in Excel
  • 3+ years of progressively responsible experience for a company of more than 20 people
  • BA in accounting or business administration, or equivalent business experience
  • (Preference will be given to candidates with the AAT, Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designations.)



Key Tasks


Transactions / Day to day


  • Oversee all company accounts and investments
  • Day to day bank reconciliation on Xero
  • Maintain chart of accounts
  • Maintain orderly accounts filing system
  • Ensuring data entered is correct and up to date
  • Updating payroll to be posted to external accountant
  • Updating cash flow bi-weekly
  • Accounts payable all paid on time and with cash flow in mind
  • Accounts receivable are all received promptly - chasing invoices
  • Manage external accounting support

Reporting


  • Monthly and 1/4ly financial reporting to directors
  • Manage monthly budget and forecasts
  • Calculate variances from budget and report to directors
  • Quarterly VAT and tax processing ready for external accountant to process
  • Preparing all data for annual accounts to be processed by external support
  • Recommend benchmarks against which to measure company performance / efficiencies
  • Provide financial analyses as needed (for investments, pricing decisions, contract negotiations etc.)

Salary: £35,000 pro rata
Hours: Part Time (2.5 days a week)
