A little about us...

Birch is an international design studio with offices in London and New York. We are launching an online publication: an index to modern life, giving readers a considered take on design, travel, food and style. This will be a startup publication but with investment for high volume traffic.

We are looking for a creative and ambitious Editor to lead the generation of online content. You’ll join a dynamic team of graphic designers, web developers and photographers, and will work with the Creative Director to develop ideas and deliver copy.

What you’ll do...

  • Commission content (words and images) from freelancers
  • Manage a budget for copywriting
  • Write copy, where possible
  • Upload content for publication
  • Develop ideas for articles, and strategise content in collaboration with the Creative Director
  • Project manage generation of content, from idea development to publication

What you’ll need...

  • Experience editing copy for online or print publications
  • To be great at juggling lots of jobs and meeting competing deadlines
  • Efficient project management skills
  • Confident and clear communication and delegation skills
  • An interest in food, style, travel, and design
  • An inquisitive and creative mind
  • A proactive approach to work and a lot of initiative

What we’d love you to have, but it’s not essential...

  • Great writing skills and experience publishing copy
  • Experience working with clients and with a design team

Good to know...

  • Salary is negotiable, depending on your experience
  • We expect this to be a full-time position based in East Central London, but are open to suggestions
