Print is alive and kicking. And pslondon need a talented Artworker to help us produce some fantastic print (and digital) projects.

You will provide skilled and technically precise input to all projects, as well as support to the whole agency and be the main point of contact for any artworking.

You will work closely with the team as a whole (both Creative and Account) to follow designs and create artwork from their conception through to final sign-off.

You should have between 3-5 years experience , with at least 2 years of that working in a relevant Artworking position either in-house or for an agency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Artworking of brochures, banners, reports and presentations for a range of clients, ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and on time
  • Ensure all artwork produced meets client and brand guidelines
  • General preparation of design files to a high reprographic standard ready for pre-press production
  • Confidence in managing a large number of work files correctly, doing version control, ensuring job folder tidiness (large jobs normally have several people working in the same folders simultaneously)
  • Effectively manage your own time
  • Keep up to date with the latest artwork and repro techniques and software
  • Manage and look after the archiving of work at the agency

Skills and experience required:

  • A strong background in typesetting and artworking large text and data heavy documents (100+ pages) such as annual reports, financial statements.
  • Ability to manage all external assets used in large documents
  • Experience working in an annual reporting agency (at least one season) is a definite plus!
  • A very high standard and thorough knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite (Adobe CC), especially InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Excellent knowledge of print production techniques and artworking for print, including setting up special processes such as foiling, spot UV’s etc.
  • A fantastic and fastidious eye for detail
  • Good communication skills to ensure planning schedules run smoothly
  • A good understanding of brand guidelines and working within them
  • Collaborative skills to work closely with all members of the creative team as well as the account team and clients
  • Great progress reporting skills at every stage of the design and artwork process
  • A methodical approach to artwork and managing your own time
  • Experience in creating digital assets (such as static and animated web banners, social media ads, website files)

Please note this is not a Design role – it is a technical support role. This role would not suit a frustrated designer or someone who is looking to move within the company into a pure creative design role. It would suit someone who loves the technical details, has an eye for detail and consistency, and enjoys the craft of knowing all the nuances of InDesign, and preparing documents for print.
