TCOLondon is seeking a talented Graphic Designer and Illustrator who can deliver inspiring ideas and stunning designs across online and offline media. Our heritage is print, and a passion for beautiful printed design that elevates inspiring content is a must, coupled
with an interest in the future of print and the possibilities around digital publishing and opportunities beyond paper.

The applicant must be able to generate multiple aesthetics, be competent across print and digital, and able to work to deadline. Above all an enquiring mind, raw creative talent, passion and the ability to work within a team are key. Experience is a must.

Role requirements:

● Skill at producing style sheets, editorial layouts, typesetting and image editing for print.
● Work closely with editors and Creative Director’s to create and maintain the overall look and feel of projects, in keeping with their established aesthetic.
● Manage design process from conception through to print.
● Manage and contribute to the design of the magazines and all the photos, illustrations, and graphics that appear in them.
● Assist with branding and marketing design requirements.
● Work closely with editorial to manage the art and photo department budget.
● Coordinate with the production and editorial departments to make sure deadlines are met.
● Make sure the magazine's overall brand, including its website and other digital products, has a consistent visual presentation.
● Assist with pitches, presentations and other documents.
● Ensuring client satisfaction by matching the original brief to the concept(s) presented. Producing innovative solutions to redefine a brief where appropriate.
● Manage fonts, images and other design assets.
● Work on layouts and artworking designs ready for print or online.
● Uphold TCOLondon’s reputation by proofreading to produce accurate and high-quality work.
● Work well as part of a team to contribute ideas and design artwork for other projects.

Experience and skills:

● Degree level or comparable qualification in art, graphic design or similar field essential
● Experienced across all aspects of design with proven commercial and/or editorial experience in a similar role
● Agency experience preferable
● Exceptional creative flair and a talent for design
● Excellent time management and organisational skills
● Accuracy and attention to detail
● An understanding of the latest trends and your role within a commercial environment
● Professional approach to timekeeping, costs and deadlines
● Understanding of print processes
● Excellence in using Adobe Creative Suite, especially InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator
