VEON is an exciting new chat and marketplace platform. Designed to support our 250 Million mobile subscribers across the 12 emerging markets in which we operate. We are seeking to build out our creative team with the addition of an editorial-focused Junior Graphic Designer.

This role will suit an enthusiastic, versatile and focussed graduate with an interest in editorial, design and with keen illustrative flair. Someone who can support our motion and graphic design team by sourcing images, developing layouts and compositions, and fulfilling a range of design requests across the wider team.

As partners of Getty Images, we have a virtually unlimited resource for stock video and stills, and so this will form the starting point for most projects. We also secure exclusive interviews and journalism which add to our exciting library of assets.

We’re really hoping to find someone with technical chops, a strong sense of composition and design, and ability to tell a story through images. You’ll be working closely with the Creative and Editorial Directors, and other graphic and motions designers on your team who will help to foster your career development.

What you’ll do
• Work closely with Creative director and motion / graphic designers leads on daily briefings
• Source images and visual assets from repositories
• Optimize image assets
• Manage monthly internal correspondence
• Support team’s wider design requirements
• Prepare strategy and design documents in PowerPoint
What you’ll be
• Proven ability to cope with daily deadlines while working effectively with cross-functional teams locally and internationally
• Deeply passionate about the intersection between design, technology and content
• Flowing with creative ideas, with the confidence and ability to articulate and defend them
• Proven understanding of typography, layout, consistency and grid structures
• Digital savvy and knowledgeable about digital best practices, emphasis on video for mobile
• Have an excellent understanding of social media as a tool for brand communication
• Have an understanding of snackable and shareable content
• Have a keen interest for visual culture; art, cinema, fashion, photography, music, graphic and product design
• Inquisitive, dynamic and adaptable
Key Qualifications
• Apple Mac literate with capable Adobe CC skills (or willingness to learn): Illustrator / Photoshop / Premiers / AfterEffects
• University educated, with a graphic design or visual arts degree preferred
• Bedroom shredders are absolutely invited to apply and any experience in a design agency, production company or content environment (digital publisher preferred) is an added bonus.
• Any strengths in our market languages is a huge bonus (Albania, Armenia, Bangladesh, Georgia, Italy, Russia, Ukraine, Pakistan)
