The Role

The Digital Designer is responsible for delivering effective, aesthetic, on-brand and on-strategy creative for the Company’s online platform, app, digital campaigns, advertising, graphic installations and video work. The Digital Designer reports to the Design Director and Fashion Director and works closely with the UX Designer and Technology Team. Based in our new UK studio, located in Covent Garden, this is a truly exciting opportunity to be part of the leading luxury wholesale platform disrupting the industry.

The Responsibilities

Your work will be split across digital output for website and app design and marketing output. Your work will include designing and creating digital campaigns, static and animated GIFs, advertising, posters, graphic installations and potentially video work. Your key responsibilities will be to:

• Ensure ORDRE editorial, sales and reporting content is brought to life with unique, user friendly, high quality design
• Produce the design and output for the online platform, the app and a range of electronic marketing materials
• Work closely with the Technology team to ensure aesthetics are aligned with usability, accessibility, and ensure proper implementation with a web environment and ensure consistency and integrity of the creative vision
• Translate wireframes into simple easy-to-use and well-designed user interfaces (UI) for both our web platform and our app, providing additional screens for various device windows (responsive)
• Create visual designs and artwork that effectively communicate brand identity, including the design and production of screen layouts, colour palettes, interface elements, iconography, typography, style guides, etc.
• Design promotional materials such as seasonal reports, designer and retail data, sales collateral, website traffic reports, invites, print ads, look-books, layouts, style guides, and external and internal presentations
• Support other design activities including video, email (MailChimp experience beneficial), social, virtual reality, editorial etc.
• With the Design Director, maintain and build the ORDRE style guide
• Support the Design Director and Fashion Director to build, enhance and maintain the company’s visual appearance and brand and work in tandem and collaboratively with other business units to improve design
• Opportunity to steer projects and to affect the company’s unique journey and brand identity
• Support ad hoc design tasks such as asset resizing, cropping, retouching, colour correcting and optimisation of images for the web for our day-to-day digital business needs

The Person

• Minimum of 5 years digital design and UI experience
• Experience working within the fashion, beauty, lifestyle or design industry
• Preferred mixture of both agency and in-house experience
• Proficient knowledge of UX, user interface design processes and methodology, particularly as applied to web-based applications and optimisation
• A genuine passion for design, fashion and contemporary culture
• A strong fluency in design practices of typography, colour, layout and interactive design
• Knowledge of HTML, structural and platform limitations and web development
• Working knowledge and experience of current website / app design principles and best practice
• An understanding of legislation/guidelines relating to accessibility/usability (eg. DA, W3C)
• Able to juggle multiple projects calmly and be responsive to changing priorities
• A rational thinker with the ability to question and negotiate instructions when needed
• Must be detail orientated, can work to tight deadlines and is extremely well organised
• Ability to adopt the company’s visual approach
• Proficient in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Sketch, Adobe XD, Premiere Pro, InVision or other prototyping packages. Video and motion graphics experience are an asset, but not essential
