Who we are:

48.1% voted to remain. The majority didn’t.

We are a creative agency helping brands maintain the spirit of discovery. The websites we design, the brands we craft and the content we create are underpinned by the same values that made us vote that day:
A determination to open minds, not close doors.

How we work:

We talk, think, research and strategise. We then design. And only ever in that order.

We work with established, international brands as well as the startups with ambitions of becoming exactly that. These include the likes of POLPO, Franco Manca, Levi Roots and Sipsmith.
More than half of our clientele work in the food and drink arena - it’s an area we not only know well, but love.

However, we have plenty of clients who work outside of that world. Regardless of sector, our ethos of understanding the brand and challenge first before designing anything remains.

We are now looking for the next addition who wants to join the 48.1 team and grow with us.

Who we’re looking for:

We are looking for a talented, ambitious and hungry web developer to join our studio in Shoreditch, London.

The successful candidate will be keen to work as part of a small team with big ambitions. Working alongside our two Creative Directors, they will need to be comfortable being lead developer and in-turn managing multiple projects from concept to reality.

2+ years of agency experience with a portfolio of live and personal projects is required. This role is made for a developer eager to learn, develop and grow.

Management of freelancers and future junior developers will be something that should really excite the potential candidate.

Your role:

You will be building and maintaining websites of varying sizes with third party integrations, such as booking forms, contact forms and small e-commerce sections. All sites will need to built on a CMS (Wordpress predominately) creating a clear and intuitive system for clients to navigate.

You will be working closely with the Creative Directors and our current developer on projects - translating sketch files into responsive, cross browser compatible websites. Your involvement in the early stages of design will be welcomed as well as a keen interest in the look and feel of each project.

We will also be reliant on you to shed light on any potential issues, coupled with a proactive attitude towards finding a solution. We’re after somebody who pushes themselves on each project creatively - irrespective of size and scale.

An eagle eye for detail, ensuring what is built looks and functions perfectly across all relevant platforms is a must. And a knowledge on current and emerging trends (and implementing where appropriate) is always very welcome.

How to Apply

The things we look for: We are searching for a team member eager to learn, unafraid to ask questions and proactive in solving problems. Someone with a passion for their work and an eye for detail. A developer with an appreciation for design and a proactive nature and eagerness to collaborate with others. The skills we need: The ability to develop responsive, cross browser compatible websites with a clear understanding of the testing and debugging process. A solid understanding of PHP and Wordpress, with the confidence to build sites from start to finish.

The diligence to maintain and optimise sites on a day-to-day basis and the ability to maintain version control, using Github. An understanding of the Rest API and the ability to work with third party documentation.
