In a nutshell, we are looking for a dynamic designer to head up our in-house design team. Nurturing and inspiring the creative talent we have in-house, directing our design output and shaping our internal resources to deliver the mammoth plans we have in place for the future. You will play an absolutely key role in shaping The Collective brand, and will have loads of opportunity to work on really juicy design briefs yourself too.

Who are The Collective?
At our core, we are a bunch of dynamic foodies who are on a mission to revolutionise the dairy category and beyond. We have made massive strides on this mission and firmly believe we have a brand that can deliver absolutely amazing things.

Back in 2011, we thought the UK yoghurt market was a bit boring and needed a bit of a shake up so we teamed up with the original New Zealand founders of The Collective and brought the brand over to the UK.

We now have retail sales of over £30m and are the biggest contributor to growth within the yoghurt category. The strength of our brand is at the heart of this growth. We bring something totally different and refreshing to the dairy category and in recognition of this, we were named SME brand of the year last year. We were also awarded The Grocer’s Dairy Supplier of the year which reflects the very strong relationships we have with retailers who see us as a breath of fresh air to the category.

The entrepreneurial spirit the company was created with is still very much at the heart of our business, awe are a small close-knit team of 30 based in an ultra funky office in White City.

The role
Reporting into the UK and Europe Marketing Director, you will be responsible for helping to shape our internal design team and deliver all creative work for the UK and EU territories.

Leadership
· Manage a team of three designers (one middle-weight and one junior who are both based in the office in White
City full time, plus one senior designer working remotely 3 days a week).
· Align key stakeholders on all creative executions including the Co-founder, Marketing Director, Product Director
and Brand Managers.
· Support our middle-weight designer in their responsibility for planning work, in order to ensure all deadlines are
met, work is mapped out according to priority and the right amount of time is allocated to each project.
· Inspire, mentor and coach the team.
· Push us forwards creatively as a business.
· Attend management meetings when appropriate to obtain an overview of the short and long term creative needs across the business. Input on business decisions from a design perspective.

Design
· Roll up your sleeves and get stuck in on design briefs both big and small.

Creative Direction
· Be our head brand guardian for all design work for the UK and EU.
· Review and direct the teams work and also that of any external agency or freelancers to ensure high quality
and standards.
· One of our core values as a business is to ‘knock socks off’... this means anything from a social media post, to a
powerpoint presentation for the trade or our packaging on the supermarket shelf. As our brand guardian this
value should be front of mind at all times, ensuring The Collective magic is present in everything we design.


What we’re looking for from you:
We’re after an experienced creative who can demonstrate their excellent design abilities and proven creative direction skills. You need to have been designing for a minimum of 10 years, preferably with a good chunk of that time in-house although this is not essential.

· An outstanding designer with experience in packaging design.
· Can inspire, lead and direct a team of creatives.
· A strong knowledge of the design industry, brand development and the creative process.
· Is passionate about pushing our brand creatively.
· Has stamina, energy and thrives in a fast paced and challenging environment.
· Believes in the benefit of collaborative relationships and cross-functional working, you can flex your approach
where necessary for the greater good of the business.
· Is a great communicator and presenter, using the appropriate body language, speech and language to positively
influence people around them, even in challenging circumstances.
· Thinks creatively about how to solve problems, no matter what they are.
· Oh… and being a yoghurt addict is a bonus!
