Communications Coordinator – maternity cover at Tom Stuart-Smith Ltd

Tom Stuart-Smith Ltd is seeking a part-time Communications Coordinator – one year fixed-term maternity cover – to join its team in London. The Communications Coordinator will assist with the daily media, administrative and communications operation of the office. This position would suit a candidate demonstrating strong organisational skills as well as a talent and keen interest in graphics/visuals. Initially the position will be 3 days per week and could develop depending on the work load and skills of the successful candidate.

Duties will include:
• update and maintain our project portfolio and image bank,
• assist with the compilation of material for books and monographs,
• respond to day to day requests for information from magazines and other publications,
• maintain the press archive, drawing archive, project archive and PR database,
• maintain and update the practice website and social media accounts,
• photo-shoot management which includes attending meetings, providing guidelines to photographers for the shoot and manage the image selection process,
• check all images are a true representation of our projects and meet our brand standards,
• design and coordinate the production of practice brochures and presentations,
• assist with delivery of exhibitions of the practice’s work,
• follow up potential new job enquiries,
• assist with bid production and design presentations when required,
• arrange and coordinate garden visit bookings to The Barn & Serge Hill,
• provide the Principal, Directors and Office Administrator with extra administrative support as required.

Essential skills & attributes:
• excellent written and verbal communication skills,
• creative eye and attention to detail,
• ability to work effectively both individually and with a team,
• dedicated, organised, self-motivated and willing to learn new skills,
• works well under pressure and adheres to deadlines,
• strong skills in Outlook, Microsoft Office, Adobe, Indesign and Photoshop,
• experience of content management system (CMS) applications and social media accounts such as instagram and twitter,
• a degree in arts/design, landscape design, communications or marketing,
• relevant experience in a previous position, and
• two good references essential.
Extra skills & attributes (useful but not essential):
• an interest in gardens and landscape,
• a portfolio highlighting your interest and/or prior experience in graphics and visual design,
• experience of using AutoCAD and/or Sketchup, and
• experience in the production of landscape graphics (hand drawn or CGI rendering).
