We’re looking for a Mid-Senior Web Developer to come and work with our team in Clerkenwell.

About the team

We’re a close-knit team of developers within an award winning employer branding agency. At the moment there are 5 of us in a wider company of around 150 across London, Bristol and New York and we operate as a distributed team, with 2 in London, 2 in Bristol, and one remote developer in Shrewsbury. We’re keen to grow the team with diverse talent from all walks of life, to reflect the variety of global, household-name clients we enjoy working on.

* Excellent execution of designs into spotless, responsive, BEM-based HTML markup
* Excellent understanding of SASS or LESS
* Excellent organisation skills
* Good understanding of PHP
* Good JS/Vue ability for animated/transitioned UI elements
* Experience of working closely with digital designers to achieve creative solutions
* Proactive, independently minded - you won’t be afraid to own a project
* Supportive and keen to pair-code with other team members
* A desire to learn

* Experience of Linux/CentOS/CLI
* Experience of Laravel
* Experience of Concrete5

Who are we looking for

Someone who fulfills the requirements, and can work on-site from the London office. Having said that, if you’re an aspiring mid-weight developer looking to move up, then please do get in touch. The overarching requirement is that you can build beautiful websites and webapps. How you get there is mostly academic.

We’re actively trying to increase diversity in our team, and would encourage applicants from all walks of life to come and see what we have to offer.

What we can offer

* 25 days holiday (further buy-back is available)
* Contributed pensions
* Private Healthcare (*)
* Flexible working / Home working
* Salary range upon request - please ask Mike at [email protected] or on Twitter @determinedmoth

Interview Process

1) In the first stage, we expect a cover letter with a CV and example URLs of your work, honestly stating your role in the project.

2) Successful candidates will be contacted to arrange either an interview in person at our offices in Clerkenwell, over a video call, or alternatively we’ll come and meet you at a venue of your choice in London.

3) Unsuccessful candidates will be notified, and where possible, reasons provided.

4) Successful candidates will be invited to spend a day with the team (9.30 - 15.30), working on some live project work by way of pair coding sessions*. This is as much for you, as it is us. There will be no tests, but we will be looking for a ability to work with others, an inquisitive/questioning nature, and a good approach to problem solving.

5) Successful candidates will ordinarily be offered a position at this stage, subject to references and background checks.

* We do regret that we can not pay you for your time on the day, but we can reimburse your travel costs, and we will provide a team lunch. If you have personal/medical reasons why this stage would be impractical for you, then please let us know and we’ll make other arrangements.

How to Apply

Please send your CV and supporting URLs to Mike Thomas [email protected] If you're remote, we can not accommodate. Sorry. If you're a recruiter - no thank you.
