About the role
We are looking for a motivated, experienced WordPress developer to join our growing team, either freelance or full time. This is not remote working (although working from home is always an option, but ideally we’d like you in our central London studio!).
You will be working closely with the creative team and will be working on many different and varied jobs, with the focus on building cool sites and solving problems.
If you thrive on helping start-ups to problem-solving, then this role is completely right for you!
You'll work across a variety of digital projects, so will need strong skills in Wordpress development, HTML, SCSS, JS as well as PHP and the use of CLI alongside solid Linux server management.

Responsibilities will include:
Web development - developing new sites and upgrading existing sites utilising HTML5, SCSS/CSS, JS, PHP and WordPress
Website management - supporting and adding new features to current client websites
Comfortable adapting to the current Capistano deployment routine, ready to work with it and problem solve.

The successful candidate will be confident in recommending, exploring and implementing improved methods across build and delivery with the rest of the team.
2 years+ experience in an agency environment
Working across multiple projects simultaneously
The enthusiasm around digital practises, trends and methods
Essential Skills
Linux Server Management
Comfortable Client Facing
Responsive, retina-ready website building using:
JS and jQuery
Thorough knowledge of Wordpress plugin development
Excellent verbal and written communication
Ability to manage your time across several projects
Understanding of digital production process
Strong creative problem solving abilities
Mac-based development

Desirable Skills
Frontend frameworks e.g. Bootstrap/Foundation
CSS methodologies e.g. BEM/OOCSS
Git source control (we use Bitbucket)
Clean, DRY code
UX/UI best practices
Making animations with CSS/JS
SEO best experiences/ Webmaster tools
Shopify Experience
Stripe / PayPal / Payment gateway integrations
Bower, Gulp, NPM, Grunt
Understanding of deployment routines e.g. Capistrano
