The Product Team


As part of this team you'll be working on the UK’s leading experience and rewards marketplace for social good, helping to deliver our product and services to some of the biggest brands in both the commercial and non-profit sectors. You’ll be involved from planning through to execution, becoming an ever-present advocate for the user. You'll help the team to make informed design decisions, placing the needs of the user and the business at the centre of every piece work.


The Role


As a Midweight User Interface Designer you are essential to the development and launch of our new platform. This is a great opportunity for an designer to make their mark on the transformation of the UK’s leading volunteering brand into a multi-purpose, multi-market proposition. it is a pivotal role in the business and you will draw on your breadth of design knowledge to influence and lead many of the project's design decisions.


Confident using Sketch, Adobe CC Suite, Keynote and prototyping tools of your choice.


Keen to be client-facing, supporting the presentation of latest designs and prototypes.


Naturally collaborative, ego-free and able to give and take design critique constructively.


Familiar with agile methods and terminology, and/or general software dev environments.


Skilled at designing and prototyping new features, and enhancing and optimising existing features based on user insights.


Excited about new opportunities as the product evolves in response to user and client feedback


Eager to identify work to do and learn; focused on finding solid solutions to problems.


Passionate about human-centred visual design, supported by a broad knowledge of common user interface design patterns, iconography, typography and colour theory


Effective with collaborating alongside engineers, strategists and other skilled team members in order to respond to the varying constraints of each project


Keen to drive and justify your design decisions using research data, design principles, prototypes and resulting user-testing insights


Inquisitive and eager to continuously improve and learn, through books, articles and meet-ups

Enjoy concepting and visualising solutions in response to the problems, ideas and opportunities you help identify from users, partners and clients
Key responsibilities


Work on every aspect of product and user experience design from brainstorming the next feature to tweaking pixels right before launch


Work closely with the product team to produce development ready User Interface designs in sketch for each sprint


Production of graphic assets for web and print


Creating visual design mockups and working prototypes


Designing presentation decks and marketing materials for the Sales and Product teams


Any other duties as required by the Product Director or Product Manager


Education and experience


A degree in design or equivalent qualification or experience


2+ years experience of using sketch in a production environment


Solid understanding and experience of using Invision with sketch


Ability to quickly learn new digital design tools and software applications


Competent using Adobe Creative Suite


A strong understanding of layout and composition, both in web UI and print


Excellent time management skills, with a proven ability to deliver to tight deadlines


Ability to contribute consistently and positively in a high-paced, fast-changing and sometimes unpredictable work environment


Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS


Passionate about new technology, contemporary user interface design and the user experience


Strong communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills
