As the Lead Designer for LADbible Group, you will be responsible for overseeing the direction of all design and brand assets for the world’s largest social publisher. You will oversee a team of designers and will be responsible for the visual identity of all LADbible Group brands, including LADbible, SPORTbible, FOODbible, Pretty52, UNILAD, UNILAD Adventure, UNILAD Sound and UNILAD Tech.


You will be accountable for the accuracy and quality of all branded assets to ensure we are a visually slick and appealing house of brands.


You will be the guardian for the correct execution of all our brands, own our brand guidelines and shape the future of the brands as we continue to evolve.


You will be a passionate digital expert and have a knowledge of best practice for building social-first brands. You will understand what makes a brilliant brand and how to make brands relevant to youth audiences.


You will lead the design function’s relationship with all stakeholders, including the rest of the marketing team, our editorial teams and video producers. Therefore, this role requires an expert communicator and someone experienced in stakeholder management. This role will be required to manage an efficient design production process, including briefing, stakeholder / client feedback and organised asset management.


You will have experience in graphic design and motion graphics. A basic understanding of digital UX and software development is a bonus. You must be experienced in designing for different social platforms.


In this role, you will need to thrive in a fast-paced, goals-driven and creative environment. You must be proactive, have good attention to detail, be able to work to tight deadlines and constantly look to enhance your creative flair. You must be able to juggle multiple priorities - the design function creates materials for marketing, internal comms and client campaigns. You must be professional, have an excellent work ethic and be a superb leader of people. You will be expected to manage, coach and mentor other team members to ensure the whole function reaches its full potential.


Responsibilities:


• Manage a team of designers.
• Own the brand guidelines. Continually suggest new ways to enhance the visual identity of all our brands.
• Keep all stakeholders updated across teams in both London and Manchester. Ensure guidelines are adhered to correctly at all times.
• Lead on major brand developments, such as the creation of new brands or existing brand launching in new ways (both online and offline).
• Manage an efficient design function, which allows for speedy delivery of assets for all stakeholders. Build relationships with key teams and business leaders to ensure you can prioritise effectively.
• Resource the design function appropriately, building the right infrastructure and team for our brand to be the best youth media brand in the world.
• Oversee the briefing process and creation of all design assets for LADbible Group.
• Manage the quality of all output, working to important brand measurement targets.
• Be an expert on design trends worldwide, especially with regards to social publishing, and make recommendations to the business as a result. Ensure LADbible Group is ahead of the curve when it comes to branding and visual identity.
• Play a pivotal role in the brand voice and values.


The Person
• Upwards of 8 years working in a design role, ideally at a social-first brand
• Strong grasp of editorial design requirements, with an expert eye for layout, message and composition.
• Experience of managing designers / creatives
• Extensive experience creating world class brands and design assets
• Ability to meet tight deadlines
• Good communicator and relationship builder
• High standard of written English and good attention to detail
• Proven ability to imagine and produce original ideas
• Natural leadership skills
• Formal qualification within a relevant field
• Skilled at creating (and nurturing from others) brilliant typography, branding and motion graphics, using Adobe Creative Suite, Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects.
• Can-do attitude with the ability to stay calm under pressure
• Have a desire to implement new, creative ideas to help improve the business.
