The digital product design team is a multidisciplinary entity of designers, developers and researchers working on products used every day by millions of people. Experimentation and learning are at the core of the product design team. As technology transforms the publishing industry, you’ll strive for consistency, quality and integrity of user experience across all you do.


As our Email Developer, You’ll be responsible for creating emails for the subscriptions areas of our business, from marketing editorial to commerce and Events, working from production (code and assets) to QA.


Key Responsibilities:


Building daily and weekly emails based on briefs from across the company, using in-house templates and styles
Working with designers to develop new templates and modules where required
Quality control for third party emails for coding errors and rendering issues in different mail clients
Research and experiment to push the standard of our emails, to ensure they are at the forefront of the industry for email design and development
Advise the wider design team and colleagues from other departments on best practice


Your Skills:


Strong HTML, CSS for email development is a must.
Knowledge of design software for email production (Photoshop/illustrator / Sketch)
A strong understanding of cross-browser/email clients, their issues, solutions and best practices
A good knowledge of responsive design
A great eye for detail and a good sense of design
An enthusiasm to learn and a genuine passion for all things email
A good problem solver, with the ability to identify and solve issues quickly
Highly organised, able to meet set deadlines and manage priorities
Expertise with industry standard ESP’s such as Adobe Campaign
Expert knowledge of email testing tools such as ReturnPath and Litmus
Working knowledge of Google Suite such as Docs, Sheets and Slides
