Purpose of the position


Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver on site optimisation suggestions to increase exposure and improve natural and paid search ranking.
Support our brands with web analytics tools and the development of an analytics process that drives insights and identifies opportunities for proactive optimisation.
Stay up-to-date on key digital trends, tools and resources, serving as the SEO & web analytics expert for the Group, educating teams on best practices


Key Responsibilities and Duties


Technical SEO


- Develop technical plans to continually optimise each Brand’s websites for improved search engine visibility.
- Have a clear understanding HTTP status codes, redirects and indexation issues.
- Conduct Ad Hoc technical SEO analysis to help troubleshoot technical issues.
- Solve complex indexation and crawlability issues, giving recommendations to improve SEO performance.
- Identify areas for on-site improvements in site structure, internal linking, page code, and content.
- Work with Ecommerce, Marketing, IT and Agency teams within each Brand to plan and execute integrated organic search programs, ensuring cross-channel integration and creating synergies with paid search campaigns.
- Monitor, identify, and analyse competitor techniques, and benchmark Brand’s performance against the industry.
- Monitor consumer search trends and identify new opportunities for optimisation.
- Be an evangelist on the benefits of SEO, and ensure that the Groups is the online leader for SEO best practice, implementation and outcomes


Web Analytics


Ownership of digital analytics and the development of an analytics process that drives insights and identifies opportunities for proactive optimisation


- Conducting data analysis on traffic sources and patterns, order volume, conversion funnel, navigation behaviour, and product selection, identifying successes, trends, opportunities, and potential problem areas
- Managing page tagging standards and building business processes to streamline tag deployment across the sites
- Use analytical insights to help other departments troubleshoot technical problems and make data driven decisions
- Ensure insights are actionable and (where possible) support assessment of ROI and prioritisation of tasks.
- Support the creation and evolution of analytics benchmarks, processes best practices and standards.
- Establish and maintain strong working relationships with peers and stakeholders at different levels of the organization and across teams


Skills, Experience & Qualifications


- SEO professional with 3+ years of experience
- International SEO experience is beneficial
- Experience using data to influence change
- Experience across the digital media landscape (including PPC, Social Media, Online Media Planning, Web Development and Analytics) preferred
- Proven track record of optimising websites sites in competitive verticals
- Data driven with strong analytical skills
- Experience with Google Tag Manager development and ability to guide other developers
- Highly organised with the capability to multitask and prioritise to meet deadlines
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
