Based at our London office in the heart of vibrant Soho, Strata’s design team work to bring communication alive across live events, experiential, print, Digital and presentation platforms. We produce designs that get clients' messages across with an appropriate and strong visual impact. Ours is a fast-paced industry, often with short lead times and the need for quick and efficient turn-around without compromising on quality.

We are ideally looking for someone with ideally 2+ year’s agency experience, or perhaps someone from an in-house design team eager to move agency side. A Designer who is a strong ‘all-rounder’, equally at home with conceptual pitch work as they are with artworking projects. The ideal candidate should be highly organized with meticulous attention to detail, remaining unflappable under the pressure of tight deadlines. The ability to problem solve and proactively work to find effective solutions to creative challenges is a key skill.

During the start of your employment it is likely that your time will be focused on a couple of our key accounts within the Pharmaceutical and Infrastructure industries. The design work here, whilst not always perceived as traditionally ‘creative’ requires you to be excited by the challenge of delivering faultless artwork aligned with clients brand guidelines time and time again, and a confident approach to the likes of data merging spreadsheet information to InDesign (experience here would be great or at least an enthusiasm to quickly learn). As you establish yourself within this role you will have the opportunity to explore other client briefs that compliment your breadth of your specific design skill and career development aspirations.

Design input is required for a huge variety of products and activities, including:
• Event or Experiential identities and environmental look and feel (both live and pitches)
• Event artwork, print collateral, exhibitions and displays – including large format
• Design & artworking of documents – internal and client project focused, incorporating marketing and presentation
materials for pitches
• Fully embrace the opportunity to use any ‘downtime’ on self-initiated projects to research and develop concepts and
ways of working to benefit the wider agency aligned to our company ambitions

Day to day tasks will include, but are not exhaustive to:
• Interpreting client briefs as directed by or in-conjunction with your Design Head of Studio (who you will report into day
to day) / Creative Director / Event Producer / Account Director
• Developing creative concepts and visually communicating these to all levels of staff
• Presenting options for design treatments, encouraging open discussion for further development
• Writing copy to support your visual communication
• Working faultlessly to brand guidelines yet understanding and having the confidence on where to interpret or push
these
• Working collaboratively with all colleagues, from Creative Directors and Copywriters, through to Producers, Project
Coordinators and Logistic Managers
• Artworking layouts for print, digital, presentation and 3D visualization purposes
• Checking artwork and files are correct for print ready, including liaising with print houses to ensure accuracy
• Amending designs according to client and internal project owners requirements as necessary
• Producing collateral under instruction from project manager and collating materials for final output
• Contributing to wider brainstorming sessions to discuss creative projects as a whole – not exclusively graphics based
• Attending seminars, workshops and exhibitions with relevant content to explore and report back on

Skills and personal qualities
• At least 2 years experience as a Designer, ideally within an agency environment
• Design qualification to degree level
• Excellent knowledge in Adobe Creative Suite and presentation software such as MS PowerPoint. Using InDesign,
Photoshop and Illustrator to a high standard is essential for this role.
• Creative flair and a strong visual sense
• An ability to gain an understanding of client brands
• The ability to disseminate complex information appropriately and create a visual narrative
• Confidence to present and explain ideas to colleagues and clients, including pitches
• The ability to grasp client needs and consider practical solutions
• A quick learner who is not afraid to ask for help
• Excellent research capabilities
• Attention to detail
• The ability to balance work on several projects at a time, often under tight turnaround times
• Ability and enthusiasm for mentoring junior team members (both within the Studio and wider company)
• An ability to work both independently with your own initiative and within a team environment
• Great team-working skills with the ability to work and communicate with all levels of staff
• Flexibility and openness to feedback
• An awareness of the competitive business environment in which you work

Desirable but not pre-requisites
• Sketching / scamping ability
• Motion graphics experience (After Effects)
• Experience data merging spreadsheet information to InDesign
• Experience creating animated GIFs in Photoshop
• 3d visualisation
• Photography
