Editorial & Research Intern

Established in 2001, YCN (You Can Now) is a learning network. If you’re keen to super-size your writing and researching skills among a supportive and close-knit team — while getting your ideas and words in front of super-engaged community daily, then we’d love to welcome you as our new Editorial & Research intern.

We help organisations build the capability they need to achieve their goals. To do this we focus in on three key areas — enriching the skills of their people, defining their purpose and strategy, and connecting them with relevant expert partners.

We partner with a fine line up of market-leading clients; from big global retailers like Dr Martens and Lush Cosmetics, to fast growing tech stars like Farfetch and WeTransfer; extraordinary charities like the NSPCC and Scope to award-winning creative agencies like forpeople and Koto. And we engage throughout their teams, from the leaders at the top to their newest hires; helping them to build new skills, discover new ways of working and solve business problems in motivating and connected ways.

As an Editorial & Research intern, your responsibilities will include:

— Writing things up for the website. That could be event write ups like this one, book reviews like this one, and other such punchy and engaging content.

— Finding things out to support the work the team does daily; from researching event speakers on a theme, to looking into digital resources that relate to topics we’re covering in our core programme, or the background of new clients we’d love to talk to.

— Supporting in creating print resources used within our core programme and as part of client projects.

— Supporting the team more broadly, bringing a proactive approach to getting things done.

As our ideal candidate you’ll have:

— Great written communications skills, and the ability to write clearly and persuasively.

— A love for finding things out, joining the dots and digging into themes in creative ways.

— All round people skills.

— A passion for learning.

— A mission driven outlook and growth mindset

— Specific skills you want to develop so that we can help you to do so.

Expenses are covered at the minimum wage and the spaces we work from as a team are on Rivington Street in Shoreditch.
