Content Lead

Established in 2001, YCN (You Can Now) is a learning network. If you’re passionate about the power of content to engage audiences and inspire change, then we’d love for you to join our central team as a Content Lead.


We help organisations build the capability they need to achieve their goals. To do this we focus in on three key areas — enriching the skills of their people, defining their purpose and strategy, and connecting them with relevant expert partners.

We partner with a fine line up of market-leading clients; from big global retailers like Dr Martens and Lush Cosmetics, to fast growing tech stars like Farfetch and WeTransfer; extraordinary charities like the NSPCC and Scope to award-winning creative agencies like forpeople and Koto. And we engage throughout their teams, from the leaders at the top to their newest hires; helping them to build new skills, discover new ways of working and solve business problems in motivating and connected ways.

The Content Lead opening

We're looking for someone to join us and work on the research, origination and publication of content across our own channels, and as part of client projects too. Working alongside the broader team and reporting into our Editorial and Content Director, you’ll be helping us to refine and evolve our content and editorial strategy — enriching relationships with our existing audiences, and connecting with new ones too.

In the world of YCN our content includes:

— The beautifully designed physical resources such as worksheets and other imaginative tools that support sessions in our core learning programme.

— Similar materials we create to support our client projects. That could be topic specific workbooks for a Dr Martens leadership event, or a series of films used as part of a digital ‘Skills Gym’ platform we deliver for adidas.

— The digital resources we pull together to support in-person sessions — from curated content from around the web, to our own original content.

— Write-ups of certain events that happen within in our programme; from a new book launch with Bruce Daisley or June Sarpong, to a panel event on the power of words.

— Content for our social media channels.

As a Content Lead your responsibilities will include:

— Researching, writing and originating content across our own channels, and within client projects.

— Sourcing and collaborating with external subject experts, pulling their knowledge into our resources.

— Helping best define our approach to social media.

— Sharing content with others in person. That might be presenting something you’ve written or produced internally, within a client workshop, or as part of a roundtable discussion.


As our ideal candidate you’ll have:

— Evident, relevant experience from past roles that can be transferred into this one. We see this as a mid-level role, but are open-minded to the exact extent and nature of experience. If the role sounds interesting, then we’d love to hear from you.

— Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

— Experience with producing long and short-form copy for print/digital/social channels.

— Good computer skills and familiarity with the obvious programmes and tools.

— A passion for continual learning and helping others to achieve their goals.

— Lots of good ideas for how to connect with and motivate modern audiences.

— A mission driven outlook and growth mindset.

— Curiosity.
