We are Ave Design – a graphic design studio based in Islington, London, that specialises in working with the charity and not-for-profit sector. With an ethical outlook and a creative edge, we provide strategic brand, print and website design and consultancy services to a range of clients; including the WWF, Macmillan, Cancer Research UK, and St Mungo’s.

We are very busy and so are looking for a Studio Manager/Project Manager to join our small, and growing, team. This position is initially for a six month contract, but with the potential to become full time should the work level accommodate. The role is varied and hands on; you’ll need to be keen to take on a role that requires attention to detail and lots of initiative. You will need to be professional and proactive, and happy to help push the studio as it grows.

Roles and responsibilities:

• Supporting the Creative Director with day to day tasks involved in running the studio, including general administration, diary management, travel planning
• Managing both professional and personal matters
• Assisting the designers in the day to day running of projects; from proofing, checking amends, obtaining quotes from suppliers, liaising on timings with clients, etc
• Being the first point of contact for clients and suppliers
• Overseeing the completion of timesheets and other general project administration, such as setting up schedules
• General office management; checking supplies and getting printers serviced etc
• General financial assistance; petty cash, invoicing, chasing overdue invoices, online banking
• Managing weekly workflow
• Managing clients to ensure content arrives on time, milestones are met, and projects dont go over budget
• Reading tenders and assisting with new business

Some previous experience at running a team of designers would be an advantage, as would knowledge of InDesign or other Adobe software.
