We are on the lookout for a talented and all-around creative to join our team as a Mid-Weight Designer.

An understanding of building brands across print and digital platforms is essential as is an ability to bring passion, flair and creativity to the party as we continue to grow and expand Hex Studio.


You will be working on a variety of projects across a range of clients, using your creative mind to develop awesome designs, from client brief right through to final product.
This is a pivotal design role, working side by side with our Senior Designer. You will have lots of responsibility. This role will require you to be able to handle the pressure of decision making and client requests.
We need someone who knows the design process well, creating awesome digital and print focused solutions. Please do not apply if you have no brand experience or knowledge of design processes.
You will need to work to deadlines, completing each project on time, to budget and at a high standard.
A flexible, willing and methodical approach to take on creative tasks, both as directed and under your own initiative.

We work with startups, as well as, established brands so you’d be dealing with a range of different levels of experience, which can be challenging but rewarding. Over the last three years, we've built up quite a friendly club of companies that have worked with Hex Studio, among others: Bic, Jet 2, The Body Shop, Wilmott Dixon, Habito and Tide.


As a Mid-Weight Designer at Hex Studio, your role will be to support our Senior Designer from initial consultation through to final execution. The day to day duties of this role will include:

Meeting clients and partners to discuss and identify their problems.
Pushing our design creativity – with brilliant ideas, fantastic design and craft skills, and smart strategic thinking.
Presenting work to clients and ensuring they understand why it’s right for them.
Working collaboratively with your colleagues and keep them motivated through the agony and ecstasy of creating extraordinary work.
Creating cohesive and beautiful decks for all stages of the design process.
Take ideas and make them into design lead solutions.
Understand how to deliver a strategic experience communication across the full range of physical and digital media, and how to translate that delivery into style guidelines.


Curiosity is king. We want you to be independent and decisive, a problem seeker and a problem solver. Someone with a small ego who will get their hands dirty to collaborate with our team to produce ace design solutions.


Have at least 3+ years of experience as a brand designer with a good understanding of design process - Preferably from a small studio or agency.
Have excellent communication skills in internal + client presentations
Experience in team building + mentoring would be an advantage, not a deal breaker.
Comfortable collaborating with developers + creative technologists.
Have a working understanding of relevant programming languages used in interactive design (HTML5, CSS, Javascript).
Hands-on designer with knowledge of pertinent design software (Adobe CS, Sketch, etc).
Experience delivering projects on brief, on time and within budget


Have a proactive attitude and be able to give and take feedback.
Have an interest in what’s going on in the world of tech and design.
Have an eye for detail and are happy mentoring junior designers in the team.
Be approachable and friendly and take a ‘hands-on’ approach to the work.
Have a positive enthusiasm that drives you to create fantastic designs.
Great sense of humour and able to have a laugh - we are a small team so please no mardy bums.
