*About the role…*

We have an exciting opportunity for a Product Designer to join the design team at toucanBox as an intern for 6 months at our head office in Oxford Circus, London.

We are looking for a creative, hard-working, graphic design/product design or art related graduate to join us ideally starting from April 2019. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to get a first-hand insight into a start up, and learn what it takes to launch new products in multi countries and make it successful.

In this role, you will work alongside our Chief Product Officer, helping her to design new craft products for children. Working as part of an autonomous, agile team, you will need to be self-motivated, a great communicator and a fantastic team-player. You will need to be able to work under your own initiative, and adapt quickly when requirements change.



- Research, development and prototyping for new products for children aged 3-8 years old, keeping within guidelines of cost, size of materials due to box size etc
- Material sampling and testing
- Running feedback and testing sessions of final designs
- Writing instructions and briefing Graphic Designer on illustrations needed to bring them to life
- Producing product templates or part designs in illustrator or product design software
- Producing content for our monthly magazine and blog
- Assisting in reviewing the current product range and suggesting improvements that can be made
- Collaborating closely with operations, marketing and customer care

*What are we looking for?*

- You have a strong grasp of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, additionally knowledge of product design software would also be beneficial
- An interest specifically in product design for children and an understanding of the industry
- You’re well organised, with a hands-on attitude; you like to make things happen and follow through from start to finish
- You have a natural curiosity for all things, learning as you go
- You’re someone who can work independently and under your own initiative
- You have super communication skills, both written and oral
- You have a genuine love of our product!
