The Pleasance Theatre Trust looks to recruit a creative and driven in-house Graphic Designer to work across all aspects of the organisation’s visual presence. Working as part of the busy Marketing team, the Graphic Designer will be responsible for producing a broad range of design assets including promotional brochures, show posters and flyers, social media images, information packs and organisational literature. They are also responsible for site design and signage in the Pleasance’s permanent London theatre and in Edinburgh during the Festival Fringe, working alongside third party illustrators and designers as required. Their designs will define the venue’s ‘look and feel’ and influence every interaction the audience has with the Pleasance - from the moment they pick up a brochure to the point they arrive for their show.

The Pleasance is simultaneously a charity, receiving house theatre and producer, and the Graphic Designer’s creative output will reflect this - representing each of these strands in their own way whilst ensuring an underlying visual consistency between them all.

In addition to creative energy, the ideal candidate will have a systematic approach to design that enables them to present often complex information in an effective and visually appealing way. Experience in creating brochures, booklets or informational packs is beneficial. They will be committed, able to manage simultaneous projects, think on their feet, maintaining an unrelenting good humour and a great knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite will be second nature.

In this exciting position, the Graphic Designer is responsible for their work from concept through to realisation and has the opportunity to put their own stamp on the organisation - which is the largest venue on the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, the biggest arts festival in the world.

The position is based at the Pleasance’s London Theatre for the majority of the year, relocating to Edinburgh for the Festival Fringe throughout August.
