Location Assistant at LS Productions

Do you like the idea of being a location detective, tracking down unique shoot spots all over the UK for some of the world's best production companies and brands?

We’re looking for an office-based Location Assistant to join our growing Location Department based in Edinburgh. This job is offered on a full-time, fixed-term contract until Friday 2nd August 2019.

As our Location Assistant, you will assist with the administration and organisation of our world-class, 7000+ strong location database.

You will help collate all necessary location images, site plans and information regarding new locations and take responsibility for the addition of new locations to our database, the addition and revision of contact details and the removal of locations that are no longer available for filming.

You will assist the Location Manager in sourcing and presenting suitable locations meeting our clients' briefs, and you'll contact location owners, arrange scouts and recces, and assist with all necessary location pre-production.

You will contribute to the expansion of the database by researching suitable new locations within a given brief.

You will assist with contacting Location Owners, Scouts and Location Managers for both live jobs and general enquiries and you will ensure that all contacts and notes are captured on the database for future use.

You will work with the Location Manager to organise location-related content for marketing purposes, and help monitor the location section of our website, ensuring locations are kept up to date based on trends in briefs and the acquisition of new locations.

You will keep up to date with nationwide location news in the industry.

Key Skills

A basic understanding of production, especially related to film location work, and a willingness to learn and develop as the company grows.

An aptitude for admin, curating databases, filing and record keeping.

Confidence working on multiple projects at once; multi-tasking and prioritisation are key.

Ability to think creatively and find imaginative solutions to location briefs.

Enjoy tackling research projects to unearth the impossible for our clients, working with high attention to detail.

Experience working with computer databases and a high level of digital literacy, ideally including Adobe Suite and Microsoft Office.

An outgoing personality, a confident communicator and the ability to develop relationships whether with local communities, regional film offices or government organisations.

Your normal place of work will be 107 Constitution Street, Edinburgh, EH6 7AE.

You will occasionally be required to travel to meetings and sets, whereby expenses will be provided.

You will report to the Location Manager Amy Morement.
