The role:

A junior designer will be ready to develop their existing skills by working with senior creative staff on a range of ambitious and innovative projects. Responsible for helping to drive the creative direction of new and existing brands, an understanding of branding and logo design, typography, layout and art direction will be needed to help the team produce the best work possible.

At light and motion we often create new brands, so conceptual thinking is essential. A keen eye for detail is necessary to ensure we continue to produce work we are proud of.

Communication is a big part of the job so the right person must have confidence in sharing ideas throughout the creative process, and receptive to creative direction.

Typical activities:

• Supporting the team throughout all stages of the projects

• Offering input to creative meetings and sharing ideas

• Producing ideas and designs that align with the brief

• Communicating with senior team members to receive feedback

• Liaising effectively other team members

Tools we use:

Good working knowledge of the following programs is essential:

• Illustrator
• Photoshop
• InDesign

Necessary skills:

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Experience in design for print and digital

• A determination to achieve and succeed and a can-do attitude

• Some (at least 6 months) creative industry experience

• Great attention to detail

• The ability to meet deadlines in a high-pressure environment

• A background of working as part of a design team

• The ability to see projects through from inception to production

• Consistency regardless of project size

• Good organisational skills that support the rest of the team

• The willingness to listen to feedback and use it to improve

• Illustration skills would be a bonus

About Light and Motion:

We are a London based creative branding agency, established in 2008. We bring brands to life through storytelling & delivering unique visual identities across multiple platforms & geographies.

We primarily work with the hospitality industry, creating brand identities for restaurants and hotels, but also work with a range of different companies in various sectors.

Our creative team have developed brands for Jason Atherton, Angela Hartnet, Anne Sophie-Pic, Four Seasons, InterContinental and Edition Hotels.

We are a small friendly team looking to recruit a junior designer to join the family.
