We’re looking for a highly motivated Accounts Assistant to join the Finance team, which is made up of 4 members of staff.

Here you will help the team with data entry, processing, and recording transactions, updating the ledger, and preparing reports. Although this is a junior role, you will be a vital member of our busy team, helping to ensure key tasks are carried out effectively and efficiently.

An understanding of basic accounting principles and some degree of computer / software literacy would be beneficial, but hard work and the willingness to learn outweigh this.

This role reports to the Accounts Payable / Receivable Manager, but the chosen candidate will have daily interaction with the Management Accountant and Finance Director.

The Role -

You’ll be responsible for:

• Providing support to the Finance department and help deal with ad hoc requests from the business (data, reports, etc.)
• Processing accounts payable invoices and responding to supplier queries
• Setting up suppliers in our accounting system
• Validating supplier bank details
• Working with the Accounts Payable Manager to ensure payments are made accurately and in a timely manner.
• Raising client invoices
• Posting and allocating customer receipts
• Reconciliation, including customer and supplier statements
• Ad-hoc finance tasks, including distribution of post and filing
