We’re looking for a strong 2D/3D motion designer with ambitions to use their design prowess to tackle a range of creative projects and design challenges, working with a lovely team who are passionate about making a positive impact through the work we do.

Lucky23 is a growing design and motion graphics studio based in Waterloo. Our core work is animation for TV, advertising and online content.

In August the studio is re-launching with a new name, logo and website. While our focus will always remain in motion graphics, we are also expanding across disciplines to continue to make a positive impact beyond the screen. In addition, we will be working with brands we respect and admire to help them best show and tell their stories.
In addition to our client work, the studio is looking to develop physical products, create installations and bring more art-based ideas to life. Exciting times ahead.

About You
From a day to day, job description perspective, we are looking for two very specific things from the candidate:

PRIMARY
We’re looking for a talented and highly creative motion designer with industry experience across categories. We need someone who has seen motion design projects through from conception to completion. This person has led motion design projects and is looking to push the limits of motion design - bringing new techniques, processes, theories and ways of working.

SECONDARY
We’re also looking for someone who is excited about design beyond motion. The role is versatile, ranging from pitching for new clients across different disciplines to self-initiated high-end graphic works. Ideally, a broad range of design challenges excite you and you can’t wait to get stuck in.

Professional Skills
5 years motion design experience, has led projects, confident communicating and presenting ideas
Advanced skills in AfterEffects, C4D, Photoshop, Illustrator and the Adobe suite and industry-standard motion design software.
Skilled graphic designer; able to demonstrate strong conceptual and creative design, art direction and typographic skills. Strong eye for detail and colour.
Lateral thinker and creative problem solver, eager to learn, happy to try new things and get stuck in.
All-round reliable team player, supportive team member, loves to share knowledge across the team.
