The Role

We are on the lookout for a motivated graduate with a passion for design, brimming with big ideas, and with a willingness to get stuck in to all stages of the design process. You’ll work within a fast-paced studio covering a wide portfolio of clients, and will work directly alongside the design team, creative director and project managers.

Working closely with the creative project lead (designer), you’ll be involved helping to develop concepts and carry these through to design. Your tasks will be varied, ranging from research and the creation of concept boards all the way to idea generation and working up design concepts. You’ll also have the opportunity to sit in on client meetings and learn about the inner workings of the project process first-hand.

On occasion, you will also be asked to help out with some of the general nitty gritty around the studio, but it’s a team effort so we all pitch in on this. This could include anything from helping to keep our social media channels up to date, keeping us abreast of upcoming events, to popping to the shop for some milk!

You’ll be an integral part of the team, so don’t worry about us placing you in a corner and forgetting about you. We have a very strong work ethic at Brand42, however this approach is balanced with a fantastic studio environment. We are a sociable bunch that enjoy a drink or two, and you’ll be invited to join us!

This role is for an initial contract of between 1 and 3 months. Brand42 is a growing organisation, so if you prove yourself to be essential to the business, there is potential for a discussion regarding a longer term role.

Requirements & Skills

- Understanding of Adobe Creative Suite software including Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop.
- Ability to research a topic in depth, analyse that research and articulate key themes and insights.
- Ability to verbally articulate and explain your ideas and concepts.
- Understanding of/ interest in UX and web design.
- A passion for discovering future trends in design, from new websites and apps to print/packaging processes and materials.
- Ability to collaborate and work as part of a team.

Beneficial but not Essential

- Experience of Sketch/ Adobe XD.
- Experience of motion graphics software such as After Effects.
- Experience of Keynote.
