R Design is a highly creative award winning agency established in 1990. We are small but mighty and want to find like minded designers to join us and create inspirational work creating branding, packaging, print and digital solutions for a diverse range of clients.

We now have a role for a Junior/ Middleweight designer with at least 2/3 years experience to join our studio. You will be working in a small but fast-paced team directly with the Creative Director and founder Dave Richmond and will be an integral part of the creative process. You will be expected to create work that answers the brief, that is inspirational, well crafted and is completed to the highest standard within the agreed deadlines.

Your Role:

To deliver highly creative strategy, brand identities, packaging, design for print and digital for our Retail and Brand clients. We like designers who can draw, or at least sketch and explain their ideas before using their Mac. Once we have discussed all our ideas as a team, you will be expected to take those sketched concepts to a high level of visualisation and execution. As a company we pride ourselves on well crafted design and great typography. You will be responsible to art direct photography and illustration and to understand the printing process. Above all, we want to find someone who is talented and wants to learn.

As the Middleweight designer, your appointment will combine all essential creative duties:

  • Work and Responsibilities
  • Be a pivotal member of your creative team
  • Represent the Team Leader when needed at client or internal meetings
  • Shape and share responsibility for your team’s creative output
  • Produce inspired and insightful creative work Project Planning and Resourcing
  • Take a responsible attitude on your projects when working with the Creative Director and account management team through every phase from strategic planning, creative inception through to production
  • When asked, attend initial briefings to help set timings and direction and allocate resources
  • Assist in identifying external resources, freelancers, photographers and illustrators
  • Ensure Project Managers and Creative Director are kept informed of any project developments
  • Participate in design briefings, supporting the Creative Director
  • Ensure the agreed design process is adhered to
  • Ensure all review deadlines and standards are met
  • Assist and manage the creative output, ensuring adherence to the brief and the highest quality of creative work
